- XRxXOnline RatXxAug 28, 20251.0My pet was in great pain and was suffering from an illness that required her to be put down. This was a very difficult decision for my family and did not come easily. After discussing about the two step procedure with the staff at Banfield, my wife I decided we would stay for the first step. The staff gave us time to say goodbye and then took our beloved family member to the back to get her prepped up. After waiting a couple of minutes a staff member returned to the waiting room and told us we could leave and they would proceed with both procedures. This is something my wife and I did not agree on but we let it slide and left the waiting room. After paying the bill we headed home and consoled each and was relieved that our pet was not suffering any more. We continued to make arrangements in giving away Stella's toys and bedding to family members when we received a call from a manager at Banfield two hours later saying that they are with Stella. I was shocked because she should have been put to sleep 2 hours ago. The manager stated that she has a coworker that would like to take our dog and pay for the medications & surgery and send her to a home in Austin (family member). My wife and I have been going through a lot during this time and to have our wishes not honored and respected made us angry. The manager said we would have to come back and sign a release (even though we paid for her euthanasia treatment). We thought we had closure two hours ago but now we would have to go through this again was heart breaking. I hope Banfield addresses the management at this store and customers don't experience this situation.

They're always super friendly and sweet to my dogs and my dogs can get nervous but of course with treats on hand they warm up to everyone. What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
What are the regular operating hours of Banfield Pet Hospital in Fort Worth Downtown?
