I brought my chawiwi in for an exam. Front desk staff were absolutely wonderful however, I really didn’t like the Tech and how he made me feel when I denied their membership plans. It was a lot of silent moments So I was hearing a lot of what was going on in the back and not too sure who it was, but there was a woman with the same voice who I heard multiple times kind of threatening a dog for whining, which is very disgraceful since a lot of pet owners drop off their pets here and of course leaves the pets a little bit vulnerable. She said something between the lines like “if you don’t stop crying..” I have volunteered multiple times with the city of Fort Worth animal shelter, and Never have I heard any of the employees talk to the animals in such a manner.

I brought in one of my clients cats because this is the vet that was recommended to me by my client. We were the first people there and were seen pretty immediately. However upon only looking at him while he was still in the kennel not even attempting to touch him, they wanted to charge $721 to FULLY sedate. So I informed the Tech that they needed to contact my client for authorization. When the Vet tech talked to my client at 10:30 to authorize the service. My client asked for a light sedative and the tech said she would ask the doctor what she was comfortable with. Then they too the cat back I called at 1:00 to check on progress and they informed me that he had not been seen yesterday and that he was going to be seen next. That is 2.5 hours that he was back there unseen. Upon hearing this I waited another hour. Since I’d had not heard anything from the Banfield Pet Hospital or my Client I went in to get the answers I was looking for. When I got in I was informed that Dr. Hurst had tried to contact my client multiple times but hadn’t heard from my client, they then told me if I wanted to I could contact my client. So with us approaching 4 hours I called my client and she sent me picture proof that Dr. Hurst had NOT called or attempted to contact her. I informed the front desk staff that no one had contacted my client. The doctor then and only then promptly called my client, only to tell my client that they weren’t comfortable doing anything unless he (the cat) was fully sedated. My client told them to give his some meds and give him back and she would take care of it. After waiting for about 45 more minutes I was informed that Dr. Hearst had moved on to other patients so they didn’t know how long the weight was going to be. $270, and an essentially untouched cat later… I do NOT recommend you take your animals to this Banfield Pet Hospital off of Bryant Irvin road . I’ll tell you that much.
