The front desk staff and vet techs are friendly and treated my dog well that's about where the friendliness ended. My dog has very bad allergies to grass and had gotten 2 infections in about 3 months, the first time they prescribed him antifungals for about 2 weeks but the second time they prescribed him 3 daily pills, daily showers with antifungal shampoo, and mometamax for 30 days. Little did we know mometamax is a steroid typically not used for that long, since his infection was deep we ended up using 3 bottles over the course of the month (which the vet prescribed) by the end of the month his skin was insanely dry i mean his skin on his stomach and chest completely replaced itself coming off in sheets. We would've refrained from using it as much of the vet actually took the time to explain his recommendations but each time we were notified we could pick up our dog we were met with very frantic phone conversations with industry lingo that got us confused with little time to come up with questions. The conversations were short and limited to pricing rather than the issue at hand of why he had an infection, preventatives, and explanations. No vet we had met in the 5 years there took the time to fully explain anything they prescribed and we never met a vet face to face at any given time only over the phone for less than 5 minutes. Not to mention each time we would take our dog for a simple check up he would be there for at LEAST 5 hours with no food or water it seems as he was always very thirst and hungry by the time we got him back. 1/10 would NOT recommend.

I always feel like I’m being robbed here. How do I leave with a $700 bill with pet insurance? That’s after spending $400 a month ago

Unfortunately we have experienced an ongoing, unpleasant and dangerous interaction with Banfield Pet Hospital of North Fort Worth Alliance. As many of you may know we have a dog with very particular needs and issues. We have spent countless sleepless nights and an uncounted amount of money to give her the best life possible including removing the grass from our backyard because of her allergies. Her first vet there was amazing! Dr. Sloan saved her life after a previously unknown drug allergy almost killed her. Unfortunately she left the practice some time ago and we have had a string of poor service since. We have struggled to get basic care necessary for our dogs because of their stringent scheduling and overbooking. Walk-in only services such as nail trimming or gland expression is only offered Tuesday-Thursday from 2-5. I’ve called to ensure service is available only to be told upon arrival sorry we can’t. We have paid our premium each month for 2 dogs for over 7 years. The end came this summer when our high needs dog had a severe onset of issues. She was taken to an emergency vet and we realized the her liver numbers were off the charts. Less than a month before the issue she had been to Banfield for her semi-annual comprehensive exam. I stayed with her to reduce her anxiety. They ran their tests and she was given the all clear. While at the emergency vet i checked her blood work only to find off rhe chart liver numbers. Not one mention of her liver numbers was ever discussed at her visit. After the emergency visit I called to inquire as to why we were never informed of her blood test results. It took well over a month for the investigation to be concluded. They finally decided to agree to cancel her wellness plan because of their failure to support her needs. The kicker is the refuse the cancel the plan for our other dog. Why would I consider continuing to take our other dog to their practice? I have requested multiple times for them to cancel our other dog’s plan. I have been left with no other option than to provide the public with their incompetence and inability to provide necessary services. Please, if you care about your pet please do not trust Banfield Alliance to care for them.

We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
