- NZNicole Zepeda1 day ago5.0My dachshund was a puppy when I took her to THREE different grooming businesses in the Rio Grande Valley. All three handed her back to me and said, “She will never be able to be groomed. You’ll have to take her to a vet to get her nails clips.” Five years passed as $12 nail clippings and $22 anal gland expressions, at Banfield’s vet, went up to $25+ for nails clippings and $40+ for the anal gland expression… and I had to take her every 4-6 weeks. (Ridiculous and unjustifiable price increases.) So, I called Petco. Maybe new groomers could help? I called and spoke to Alexandria, a.k.a. “Alex.”She responded with 100% confidence, “Yeah, I got her. You can bring her.” I learned she used to groom dogs at Palm Valley Animal Society and that’s all I needed to hear. Anyone who grooms dogs at a shelter knows how to handle animals with fear and behavioral issues. That call took place over a year ago. ❤️❤️❤️ I now take my dachshund monthly for a basic bath that includes: nail trimming, anal gland expressions, ear cleaning, bathing and more for under $40, and I get additional savings because I signed up for the Petco membership. And, my dog graduated to being able to be groomed by a male, too! Saul and Alexandria “Alex” are my go-to groomers. They are wonderful. I’m forever thankful for them and I highly recommend them.

- CGChristelle GarzaNov 15, 20254.0Good service. I was running late to pick my dog up due to unforeseen circumstances. The groomer proceeded to leave multiple condescending messages on my voicemail. When I arrived she gave me a speech regarding not taking my dog to grooming unless I had time to pick her up as soon as she is done (she was done later than planned so I had other things at that time). Obviously, that was not by choice, she has no idea of everything that I had going on that day that prevented me from arriving on time and I owe her no explanation. I do not need to be scolded. Unfortunate that they consider this appropriate practice.
