Forgive the words because I am still grieving. Yes, grieving. Maybe if these people actually listened the TWO TIMES we went within a week, my fiancé and I wouldn’t be so inconsolable. About a week and a half ago, I noticed my cat coughing, which we know was due to her heart disease. She was put on medication a year prior, and has since been taken off. When we noticed the cough, we immediately took her back and requested that she gets put on the meds again. The meds aren’t narcotics, so there should have been no problem giving it to us. They insist that the necessary X-ray was impossible, because she was squirming. They didn’t even try giving her a sedative were also POSITIVE it was “seasonal allergies.” She had a massive fit of this past weekend and we made an appointment for the next morning. Right when my fiancé got off her night shift (she’s a medical professional, specializing in cardiovascular, and having high experience with heart failure) we took her in immediately and AGAIN, requested she be put on the meds. They call us a couple hours later, saying the X-ray went well and she was ready to be picked up. When we got there, they still did not give us the meds we insisted on, but instead, just the non-important one. A couple hours later, she is flailing and flopping on the ground from lack of oxygen, due to fluid in her lungs, caused by a heart failure exacerbation that had been building up. We call them back, and to our surprise, they haven’t even looked at the X-rays and claimed this was all new, since that morning. Only then, on the spot, while we were on the phone, did they examine the x-rays, confirming our fears and admitting they should have given us the meds. Long story short, within the hour we rushed to an emergency vet clinic in Collin County and made the hardest decision we have ever had to make, as a couple. I still can’t believe how stupid we were for trusting these people. We spent every day with her, yet they didn’t listen to us and we trusted them. If they had just given us the meds the first time we asked, maybe we would still have our cat. Even the emergency clinic was shocked at the lack of care and urgency of banfield. The emergency clinic said they couldn’t even hear much of a heartbeat, only the crackling sound of fluid in her lungs, something any vet would have been able to notice right away. Do not go to this heartless place. They do care, but not about your pets, only about how many times they can get you to come back and spend more on their “services,” if you want to call it that.

This is where they prefer you put all animals down. If your dog just needs a stitch go another place.
