I'd have given this place zero stars if I could. Dr Drawer is a joke. I had his heartworm medicine refilled here back in July. I go in today to pick up his refill and its for a less body weight than the last medicine we had purchased. How is that even possible. Then when I brought it to his attention, he told me I had to bring my dog in for an appointment to weigh him even though he was just seen 3 months ago... ill be finding a different vet for sure!

I love Dr. Dror and his vet tech, Sierra!
Luna is my first dog and has been with me for the last 9 years. She is now around 13 years old, so she is quite advanced in age. Although I have a medical background, it is very different from knowing the ins and outs of medicine for my dog. I feel that Sierra and Dr. Dror are very informative as well as transparent with their pricing versus other vets who can be quite cryptic as your dog ages. I have been to Vetco quite a few times in the last two years after switching vets, and I can say that all doctors have been equally informative and transparent! I do have an issue with my dog aging and can become emotional (as anyone would), but Sierra, especially, made me feel comfortable talking about the things Luna needs to continue to keep her quality of life.
When making an appointment online, be sure that you are booking with the TOTAL CARE Vetco rather than the vaccine clinic. I made this mistake, but wasn't greeted with friendly service from the vaccine clinic, specifically, as I was with Dr. Dror's team. Otherwise, I will be continuing to take my pets here!

Take your business elsewhere. Petco/Vetco has become another private equity nightmare. Issues with scheduling and lack of transparency started at the Brodie lane location. Resulting in rescheduling a vaccine booster at the North location. The appointment was at 8:30, they open at 8, and the door was still locked so it was your typical Vetco experience. The staff was fawning over another dog that was in there distracting my dog while getting weighed, so his read wasn’t accurate, but they recorded 73. He was weight today at home at 70. Previous location full checkup visit was 68, my dog is also a full size golden doodle. The person that entered the room, I’m unsure if they were a veterinarian, a tech, cashier, no name given either, backwards hat and T-shirt on. Nothing noting professionalism whatsoever. This person immediately started the conversation with “I do have to weight shame you, as he’s gained 5lbs”. Considering the scale situation, plus a rather recent previous visit I didn’t feel this was accurate or the presentation of the topic was appropriate. I stated that we recently changed food to the Farmers dog and he’s finishing his meals now. We also go on two 30 minute walks a day and he needs groomed, so he probably has an extra 2-3 lbs added with hair. But the abusive groomers at this location said he is no longer Petco groomable. Long story short, I was 1 of 3 customers the store manager had to refund for grooming that week due to poor/incomplete grooming and poor experience. This was 1.5 yrs ago, but back to Vetco.
The visit was very uncomfortable, it felt as if the entire appointment was to shame me and question me. I had general questions about this vaccine and booster as it was not required in the past and is not necessary. After the experience I regret using Vetco and wish I had chosen another vet from the previous visit at Brodie where they could barely speak to the vaccines he was receiving. They asked how we was doing after that initial vaccine then asked how he was doing at home, with a judgmental tone as if I can’t take care of my dog. Who is a very happy friendly dog, pull your footage. The whole conversation was uncomfortable and highly judgemental. I guess asking questions and my presence wasn’t welcome there. While at least at the Brodie location the VET was nice, the rest of that staff is grossly incompetent.
They then stated for them to see my dog that day it would be $56 and then the booster $50. First off, again from Brodie, they never said he was need a booster at additional cost. Secondly, he had had a checkup 3 weeks prior at the Brodie location which all came out to $350 with vaccines, 1 dose of Simparica, and the exam. At least at Brodie he received a FULL exam, all this person did was tell me my dog was fat and look at his gums. Literally. I did push back as an “exam” happening was never communicated, nor should it be necessary for a booster shot visit. They said they wouldn’t charge me for the exam and only the shot. Paid, left, and I have had all medical records transferred so I never have to return to Vetco or Petco again.
Customer lost, Petco used to me a great store and Thrive convenience, cost, and professionalism was why we initially started going there. No more. I can make my own inferences about this experience and why the individuals working in these locations act as they do, but will keep to myself. If you want taken seriously, take yourselves seriously. Learn to look and act the part. Ask appropriate questions, keep your biases to yourself or maybe find a job out of the public sphere.
