Usually we buy them from Petsmart but since they were running low on fish we thought we’d give it a shot. We came in and didn’t see any staff but went straight back to the fish and picked out the one we wanted. Then they started just turning the lights off. No announcement that they were closing or any communication.Prior to this we mistakenly thought we still had an hour left until closing. When we saw the employee turning off the lights, we asked him if we could get a fish and he immediately had an unnecessarily rude attitude in front of our 4 year old, saying “I really wish you would have said you wanted a fish when you walked in, not gonna happen now”. I totally understand that it was close to closing but I don’t understand the need to be so rude like that. They locked the doors before we could even get outside and we walked straight out right after having that conversation. Us being there at closing time was completely unintentional. All you had to do was communicate that in a kind way instead of being disrespectful about it. We left abruptly and our daughter was crying on the way out because we didn’t have time to explain why we had to leave before we were having to pry the front doors open ourselves to get out.
