The snakes in particular, which were being cohabbed, were not even bothering to hide, likely given their lack of opportunity to do so, but were instead just laying flat and motionless in the middle of the enclosure. The sprinkling of filthy aspen and lack of available hiding places was causing them to breathe heavily while laying in their own waste, and temp/humidity were way off the mark. The fish tanks were mostly a sickly shade of green. I generally avoid big box stores for obvious reasons, but just needed some sphagnum moss. I Ieft the store upset at these conditions and advise anyone in the trade to avoid this place.
