I will never allow this place to treat my animals again. Rather than being patient advocates, who take an oath similar to any other health care profession, they have become more concerned about colleagues feelings than treating and caring for their patients. I recently brought my 6yo dog in for her annual appointment and while there I asked them to also look at an aggressively growing lump that appeared on her paw approximately 2 weeks prior with no obvious injury. The vet was pretty concerned it could be cancer due to how fast it was growing. He aspirated the lump and made slides to send to pathology, this was on a Friday.  I was told that the results would come in by the end of the following week and the vet advised he is only there part time- Thursday and Friday. He advised that if the results came back prior to him being back that the other vet who works Monday-Wednesday would call with the results. He also took photos of the lump to add to the chart. As of the following Wednesday I still hadn't heard from the vets office, however, I reached out due to the lump doubling in size since the appointment 5 days prior. I requested to speak to the vet and told the receptionist what transpired. I was advised that the vet was currently with a client but she would pass the information believing the vet may want me to return with my dog for additional assessment. The receptionist then advised that they actually received the test results the day prior so she would also ask the vet to review and call me back ASAP. 6 hours later, I still hadn't heard anything so I called back. At this point the receptionist tried backtracking on how she should have advised that the call back can take 24-48 hours. When I explained again the concern and the prior conversation, I was then advised that the vet did review the blood work, lab results from pathology etc but "doesn't want to overstep" the other vet that initially treated my dog so I need to wait until the other vet is back at the office. Had I not called back, the vets office wouldn't have even called to give an update . Even after explaining what the vet advised regarding who would relay the results to me, I again was told that the vet didn't want to "overstep" and I needed to wait. This is completely unprofessional and borderline negligent. If they're more concerned about theor feelings than they are their patients, I can only presume that this directly correlates to their treatment of the pets they see daily. If you don't have enough compassion to properly treat your patients first and foremost, you have no business in this profession. Shameful that the care of an animal is pushed aside out of fear of hurting the feelings of a co-worker. As a professional, you should know that your patient comes first and foremost and anyone that would get "upset" for stepping in and advising of results and treatment options for the animals to take an oath to care for is not a professional nor are you in this for the right reasons. Shame on Petvax and Dr. Mardis. While I can completely understand and appreciate professional courtesy, there should have been enough compassion and empathy to return a call to advise of the results and that you were going to have the other vet reach out with next steps as he was the one that knows the particulars of the situation. You have guaranteed that none of my animals will ever be treated at your facility ever again. Edited to add: had a second opinion for treatment and was told that the mass doubling in size with 4 days of petvax aspirating is very indicative of a mast cell tumor - common response seen with these very aggressive cancerous tumors. Shame on Petvax for not recognizing this when notified or taking it seriously. She was brushed off by the primary vet who ultimately would've have to operate, yet she couldn't have been bothered by speaking to me.

From one dog mom to another. I have been bringing the fur babies here for years. They love their visits, everyone is so one and thoughtful. The Vet is knowledgeable and answers all my questions. Nina and Kobe always anticipate their treat at the end of services. Will definitely recommend Petvax East.
