  Closed 25 minutes early and as the manager walked out she looked at me like I did something wrong. But that tracks she’s never seemed too friendly to begin with.

  I am along time Petco customer I usually go to Fort O. I buy aquarium supplies. Today I wanted to take advantage of the plant sale. None of you guys plants are ever healthy or at peak so they never look like what the Internet shows so identifying them by how they look is impossible. You guys also never have the damn tags set up so people can read them. So when I go to get help because I can't reach in the tanks these idiots don't want to get there hands wet and when you make them they get attitude. I will continue to shop at Petco but you need to send these guys to fort O. For customer service training. This store is always garbage..

  I visited this location last Friday afternoon (before the weekend snowstorm) to purchase some fish. I understand the store was understaffed with only two employees during a busy time, and I want to acknowledge that’s a challenging situation for any retail team. However, my experience with the aquatics associate was disappointing. While I waited patiently for assistance, when she finally helped me, it was clear she was still frustrated from a previous customer interaction. The standard questions about my tank setup—size, age, stocking levels, species—were asked in a tone that felt less like a conversation and more like an interrogation. When I tried to explain that I’m experienced with fishkeeping and have multiple established tanks, her response was defensive: “Sir, I don’t know who you are. I’m just trying to figure out if I can sell you fish or not.” After that exchange, while she did ask if I needed any additional fish and completed the transaction professionally, she became very dismissive and disengaged. There was no conversation, no warmth—just going through the motions. The manager at checkout was similarly short and seemed preoccupied with her mobile device. I understand difficult customer interactions happen, but staff need support in resetting between customers rather than shutting down. This experience will make me reconsider purchasing fish from this location in the future.
