Unfortunately, the front desk receptionist, Linda, has made that trust increasingly difficult to maintain. Her behavior has been unprofessional, and my most recent interaction crossed a line. I left a message over the weekend about health concerns for both my dog and my cat. When the clinic finally returned my call, Linda opened with, “You do know we weren’t open this weekend, right? Do you get that?” The condescension was immediate and unnecessary. I calmly explained that I understood and apologized for not realizing the clinic would remain closed well into the week. She responded with a sarcastic, “after a holiday? Ha, okay,” as if speaking to someone deliberately wasting her time. When I asked about both of my pets — exactly as I had stated in my messages — she acted confused and questioned me in a tone that suggested irritation rather than any intention to help. Throughout the call, she was dismissive, rude, and made it clear she had no interest in providing even basic courtesy. For a clinic that charges premium prices, the bare minimum I expect is respectful, competent communication from the person who answers the phone. Entrusting a clinic with the health of our loved ones requires confidence in the entire team, not just the veterinarians. At this point, I will be looking elsewhere, because this level of customer service is unacceptable and undermines any trust I had in the clinic.
