I hope my dog doesn’t die. I’ve just been turned away and denied care for a potential poisoning because I refused to give a third party payment for diagnosis and treatment guidelines. I was told the only way they would see my dog was if I called Pet Poison to get a case number. I learned that this case number would require a one time fee of $89. I called this situation a potential poisoning because I was not sure what was going on with the dog. Vomiting with black gums were the only symptoms I observed yet only the mention of poisoning sent the message that I needed the case number. I have a bottle of cleaner I suspected the dog may have licked from listing the chemical ingredients. I recognize two of those chemicals as being strong bases. If a veterinarian cannot treat an animal that has ingested either of these chemicals, I’m glad they did not treat my dog. I would tell anyone reading this never to use this service but it’s the only after-hours vet in this area. I hope my dog doesn’t die.

We had our German shepherd in with an awful UTI on a Sunday night. The staff (specifically Alex, the other tech with her I didn’t get her name, and Dr. Eubanks) were the kindest people. Our dog can be really bad at the vet and they didn’t make us feel like a burden or anything at all. Stuff like this is so not fun to deal with but they made it the easiest it could be. I would give 4 stars because of the crazy long wait times, but I understand there were pets needing much more urgent care than our baby. The staffs love and care makes up for it. Being from an area with a bunch of emergency vets to now only having one local I was nervous. You’ll wait a while but I believe you’ll be in really great hands. Thank you for the care and love for our boy.

The vet came into the room with 1/2 of her hair colored purple, reeking of cigarette smoke with a pot belly. I do not question her expertise but I rightly question her judgment. If she doesn't respect herself, in what way does she respect you? There were at least 10 people waiting for long times in the waiting room. We thought it was because they were busy but she is actually outside smoking. If you had to undergo a complicated surgery and your surgeon came into the room and looked like her, I would reject her. I want someone who respect themselves so that they can begin to respect me.

Wish i didnt have to give a star because they are nothing but crooks and liars took my dog there on jan 2nd because we thought she swallowed somthing the xray tech took her back for xrays and my wife called me in the process to tell me she found what we thought she swallowed told the tech and looked at the xray the she proceeds to tell me since i didnt have to see a dr that she wasnt going to charge me anything so i walked out and left now here we are 3 months later i get a bill in the mail for $378 for somthing i was told i wasnt going to be charged for and instead of honoring what i was told they say we will just send the bill to collections since i have a problem with paying them if it wasnt for them being the only emergency bet in the area idk how they would stay in buisness because what they are doing is complete bullshit

I would give lower but unfortunately 1 is the lowest you can give. We took our Golden Doodle there Wednesday evening. He was very weak and his gums were very pale. The Veterinarian walks in the room lays a 10cc syringe on the silver bed and says I just drawled this out of your dog’s abdomen. Does not introduce herself and has purple hair. I thought she was a Technician. Then she says unfortunately we have No blood and No blood bank so we can’t do surgery on him. Took one x-ray of his lungs and still charged us 400.00 dollars. We then rushed him to Jefferson City to Five Rivers Pets ER. They were wonderful, compassionate and very thorough. Unfortunately through all there efforts we lost him. Folks please don’t take your fur babies to the airport animal ER. They will over charge you, talk to you like you are stupid and not help you at all. Take them to Jefferson City. Dr. Welch shame on you. Be more compassionate. Lori Swaringen
