- PSPeyton SmithDec 1, 20251.0We lost our sweet Macy at the hands of Banfield Pet Hospital. Although, it may have been an accident, it's the way it was handled that is disgusting. Absolutely no sympathy or understanding during or after the loss of our pet. The vet we initially saw called our dog a "train wreck" and helping her would be like "polishing a turd", but continued to administer the vaccine that would trigger her demise (confirmed by another vet outside of Banfield). Overall Banfield offered very little help with reporting and contacting zoetis about vaccine injury. After we called to report that our dog had passed that offered very little sympathy and instead made sure to inform us that they would be collecting the $700+ left on our plan and was actually very rude about doing so. Im incredibly disappointed this company that would be putting pets first. I will never be returning either future pets and will warn everyone about our experiences.

I have been a wellness plan member for about 3 years now, giving this company over $100 per month. I had an appointment at 12:45 today. got there at 12:45 after driving 30 minutes to get there with my stressed out cat, just for them to tell me that the vet goes to lunch at 1 and they can’t see my cat. I have a text confirmation for a 12:45 appointment time. They then told me that I can either leave my cat there (i’m assuming to sit in a kennel terrified) for over an hour and come pick him up later, or to stay in the area with my scared cat and come back at 2. Not the first time i’ve had an issue like this with them. Don’t waste your money or your time with this place. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt after the first time this happened but i am now just going to find a vet office that is organized and actually cares about its patients.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
