I love how pet friendly staff is. I go cuz I can bring in my pets and they speak to them before me and as a pet owner I speak to pets before people and that's the true sign. And Val is the sweetest and best groomer for dogs who are used to grooms but hate it and no worries about brown balls! Val is not scared of those no matter the trail! I go back coz they know us and I want that in a store.

Rudest staff I have ever encountered anywhere. Kim reeked of cigarette smoke 🤢 and turned her back completely as I was waiting at checkout counter..Bea took care of one customer and completely walked away from me, next in line.. and the other gal in all black with long black hair couldn’t be bothered, as she was on a personal call. 😡. Never again!! I’ll go ANYWHERE else!

I just left this location tonight without making a purchase after an extremely disappointing experience.
I came in to buy several boxes of The Honest Kitchen dog food and found entire rows of product that were expired and still being sold at full price. Some boxes were expired as far back as April 2025. I took photos. It was obvious that no one is properly rotating or scanning inventory.
I asked for a discount on a box that was about to expire within a week. I explained that when food is that close to expiration, common retail practice is to discount it significantly, often in the 50 to 75 percent range. I was told only 25 percent could be taken off. I explained that I would not purchase nearly expired pet food at that discount and asked if she could check with the general manager or district manager, as I would consider purchasing multiple boxes at a higher discount.
The woman who I was talking to said that she was the assistant general manager and told me she was not going to bother her general manager. That was her exact wording.
The tone was dismissive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. Selling rows of expired pet food at full price is bad enough. Refusing to address it, showing no urgency, and responding with attitude when a customer points it out is worse.
I shop regularly at the Petco on Woodruff and have never experienced anything like this. This location is poorly run, lacks basic inventory controls, and shows a serious disregard for customer service and pet safety.
I left and went to PetSmart down the road to purchase what I needed.
I strongly recommend avoiding this location until management addresses these issues.
