I’m not sure if this vet is an activist or just lazy. We had an appointment to have our puppy’s ears cropped and after making up an ungodly number of excuses as to why he couldn’t do it he just refused to do it. ALSO they give dogs dental stix at this vet. DO NOT LET YOUR DOG HAVE THESE. Dental stix are not good for dogs and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if that were the cause of many of the dog deaths at this clinic.

Our family recently lost our dog after 13 years of loyal care, and our interaction with Banfield Pet Hospital in Anderson, SC, during this difficult time was disappointing.
After our dog was euthanized, we attempted to cancel the pet health insurance we had maintained for over a decade. The process was surprisingly difficult. The online cancellation system was not user-friendly, and speaking with the receptionist did not resolve the issue. My wife and I are joint account holders, yet when I called, I was told only she could authorize the cancellation—even though the same card they had billed every month for the last 13 years was on file. This was the same card they were already scheduled to bill the following month again. But to cancel, I was required to “authorize” the very card they had been charging without issue for over a decade.
When I asked to speak with a manager, the receptionist was unwilling to connect me. I then offered to use my own card to resolve the matter, but I was told I’d need to be transferred to another department for a separate card-authorization process. The entire experience was unnecessarily frustrating.
We assumed that canceling after euthanasia would be straightforward. Instead, we were informed that the Wellness Plan operates strictly on a 12-month contract, and we were still responsible for the prorated remainder—an additional $109.90. After 13 years of consistent payment and loyalty, this final charge felt disheartening.
For anyone considering their services, be aware that even in the event of euthanasia, cancellations are tied to the contract cycle. It’s an unfortunate policy that adds financial frustration to an already emotional situation.

You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
