  Very disappointed in this York, PA Petco’s return policy. Today (1pm) I bought two koi fish and two goldfish (total: $57.68) for my outdoor pond. When I got home, I let the bag sit in the pound for ~1 hour to let them acclimate and then I released them in the pond. Slowly over the next hour they all started floating and slowly dying. I have two other Koi fish in the pond that have been doing great. I am not at all saying it may not be my pond water that caused the problem but when I returned to petco (4:15pm) with the 4 fish (all dead), the manger told me they could not refund any fish that were put in a pond because “it is most likely the pond water environment that you put them in.” The manager also stated, “my koi have been doing great here in store which is why it is most likely your pond.” This is stated on their website, “ Petco takes great care to ensure that all aquatic life arrives safely and in great health. All aquatic life purchased on Petco.com are guaranteed to stay alive for 7 days from the day of arrival, or we will gladly refund you money back to the original form of payment.” Again, I am not at all saying maybe it’s not something within my pond that caused the issue, but considering I spent a lot of money on these fish for them only to be alive for a few hours, you would think that petco would at least accommodate me with a partial refund. I am also a big empath when it comes to animals so seeing these 4 fish die already makes me feel terrible and being blamed on top of it just makes it worse.

  I took my Cavapoo Phoebe to be groomed at Petco 3/2026. She had never been groomed before, but was in high need of it. I was honestly nervous about how she would look afterwards! But Madison did an AMAZING job! She listened to my suggestions and went above and beyond to make Phoebe look fabulous!! Phoebe will definitely be going back there again!   I purchased an XXL dog cage through online pickup. When I arrived to pick it up, the cage was very large and difficult to carry on my own. Unfortunately, the employee who gave me the cage he did not offer assistance carrying it out to my car. For such a big bulky item, it would have been appreciated if someone at least asked if I needed help. I understand stores can be busy, and in this case it looked well staffed but a quick offer of assistance would have made the experience much better.
