After leaving my old vet in tears from the complete lack of compassion, I was bracing myself for the worst. Instead, I was met with the most incredible experience from the moment I called this clinic. I was crying, frantic, and driving over with a dog who was acting completely out of character. The woman who answered the phone was unbelievably kind — she calmly asked me questions about myself and my dog so she could get him registered as a new patient, and she reassured me the entire time. Her voice alone brought my anxiety down from a ten to a two. When I arrived, everything moved quickly and smoothly. All I had to do was sign a form and they were already taking care of us. Taylor was the first person we saw, and she was so open, gentle, and comforting. She treated my dog with genuine care and made me feel safe in a moment when I absolutely needed it. Then we saw Dr. Nick, who was everything you hope for in a veterinarian — helpful, patient, transparent, and compassionate. He explained everything clearly, answered every question without rushing us, and made sure we knew exactly what was going on. The difference between the service here and what I experienced earlier that night was night and day. This team truly went above and beyond for us during a terrifying moment. Because of their kindness, professionalism, and genuine compassion, I have officially decided to switch all of my pets’ care over to them. Thank you to the entire staff for treating us like humans and treating my dog like family. You have no idea how much it meant.

Everyone was amazing!! From reception to the tech and the doctor. They listened to me answered all my questions and concerns. They didn’t try to do tests that were unnecessary. If I ever have a pet emergency again I’m going there.

Tldr: misdiagnosed and botched euthanasia, do not go. My wife and I took our dog here in late October. She was misdiagnosed with a blocked gallbladder by one doctor, and hospitalized and treated overnight for a condition she didn't have. The next day it was suggested we bring her to a different pet hospital Norristown, PA which is about 1.5 hours away, for emergency surgery. We had no problem doing that because our dog was very unhealthy. At the other hospital our dog was diagnosed with IMHA, an immune disorder, and told her gallbladder was perfectly fine. She remained there for a week but could not recover. We made the terrible decision to put her to sleep, and opted to bring her back to Barton Heights for the euthanasia since it was closer to home. The Doctor that performed this task was struggling to inject the lethal dose and had to confirm several times our poor dog had no heartbeat. My wife was absolutely devastated. It was one of the most awful experiences I have even been through and I will absolutely NEVER return to this place. If you're reading this, choose somewhere else even if you need to drive further. It might be the difference between life and death for your pet.

Last Friday I took my Czechoslovakian Wolfdog to to Barton Heights. The dog hadn’t eaten for three days, was urinating a lot, and was very lethargic. Dr. Bieńkowski examined him, did bloodwork and an X-ray. I assumed the clinic didn’t have an ultrasound, which is why he did the X-ray instead. We were given antibiotics for two days and told to schedule an MRI at another clinic. We left without a diagnosis and a thousand dollars less. On Monday, after finishing the antibiotics, we went to another clinic where an ultrasound was immediately performed — and emergency surgery was done right away because my dog had pyometra. Her uterus weighed two pounds. The vet said she would not have survived more than two days. When we were at the emergency clinic on Friday, we even scheduled an appointment for our other dog who only had a runny nose. Another doctor performed an ultrasound for him — the same test that wasn’t done for our dying dog on Friday. I understand that a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog may look intimidating, but that’s no reason to deny proper treatment because the doctor is afraid to examine the dog. I am deeply disappointed and disgusted by this experience.

The staff, vet techs and veterinarians were wonderful. My dog, Molly broke her leg. Called my vet at Homestead was told she couldn’t be seen that I should take her to an emergency veterinarian. Called Creature Comforts and was told she couldn’t be seen for 3 to 4 hours. Barton Heights said they would triage her as soon as I got there. But would have to wait for the emergency vet to come in before anything would be done. Arrived at Barton Heights at five emergency vet would not be in till eigh. Dr. Amy stepped up and gave the order for an x-ray and pain meds for my poor Molly. So she would be comfortable and ready to be seen when the emergency vets arrived. Dr Garthwaite Set Molly‘s leg and now she’s on the road to recovery. I want to give A big shout out To Dr Amy Bergquist Sanchez for stepping up out of her busy schedule to make sure Molly was comfortable. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️
