I’ve been taking my "fur babies" to Banfield since 2020, and to be honest, I can't recall ever having a reason to complain—though I’ve always maintained that there is room for improvement. Some staff members seem to be constantly in a rush, failing to take the time to thoroughly address questions or truly connect with the animals (*not all of them!**). However, I visited recently—this past Monday and Wednesday (4/6/26 & 4/8/26)—and it was the first time my Coco was seen by a Hispanic veterinarian, and I absolutely LOVED IT! She is incredibly kind and gentle, and she explains everything with total clarity to ensure there are no misunderstandings. And it’s not just about the language; you can tell she genuinely LOVES what she does! Coco suffers from severe anxiety and several health issues; she was extremely patient, attentive, and affectionate with him, and she went above and beyond to find answers and ensure that I understood everything. Thank you so much, Dr. Nancy Carina, for making such a difference! 🖤

Banfield Pet Hospital – East Stroudsburg I had a scheduled appointment at 3:15. Due to traffic, I arrived at 3:25 exactly, which is documented by the timestamp on my Tesla. Dr. Levine refused to see my dog, Daisy, solely because I was ten minutes late. There was no flexibility, no concern for the patient, and no attempt to help. Just a flat refusal. This is why Banfield has gone downhill. It operates like a corporate machine, not a veterinary practice. The care feels rigid and transactional. When veterinarians don’t own the practice and aren’t invested, it shows. Dr. Levine chose policy over patient care. That decision speaks volumes. If you want compassion, common sense, and a vet who treats your pet like more than a time slot, look elsewhere.

Our first experience with Banfield Pet Hospital in Stroudsburg PA was in June 2025 to get vaccinations for our dog Lucy (14 yr old Boston Terrier). During that visit we had the pleasure of meeting Dr Betsy Mijares who was very pleasant and professional and treated Lucy with tender loving care. We were provided with a pamphlet regarding their Optimum Wellness Plans (OWP). We were very impressed and decided to take Lucy back today for a wellness check due to a week long nasal congestion. Before the visit I called Banfield and spoke with Cheryl who was extremely helpful answering my questions and providing me with options on the best way to go forward selecting an OWP along with the doctor. With this information on hand we made an appointment for later in the day. We had the pleasure of meeting Cheryl, Nurse Cindy Maldonado, and Dr Nancy Mijares (yes the sister of our previous doctor). Once again another pleasant and professional visit. We discussed Lucy’s health and the OWP options. We also discussed some holistic options for pet care with specifics on Lucy’s senior health. You should know that all OWP plans are significant financial savings as the cost of services everywhere increase. We are definitely extremely satisfied customers and look forward to future visits with Dr Nancy, Dr Betsy, Cindy and Cheryl. Thank you all.

We brought a kitten into our home after finding him on the street. We kept him separated from our other cats at first, just in case something was wrong. He had conjunctivitis, so we took him to Banfield for an exam. The vet did whatever in the back, gave us eye medication, and we were told the kitten was good to go. The vet never came out to speak with us, never explained anything, and never mentioned any concerns. The front desk scheduled a follow-up appointment a month later for vaccinations and told us to bring a stool sample at that next visit. We were under the impression the kitten was fine, so we slowly introduced him to our other two cats (who also receive care at this same clinic.) At no point did anyone warn us to keep them separated or to watch for common contagious illnesses. Weeks later, one of my cats (who has never been sick before) suddenly becomes ill. We bring the kitten back in, they finally run tests, and it turns out he has worms and most likely a virus that is extremely common and highly contagious in outdoor kittens. After researching, I learned that these viruses often present with conjunctivitis, which the kitten already had when they first saw him. Banfield assured us that whatever the kitten has my other cat most likely also has so testing on both cats would not be necessary. Because of their lack of communication, I ended up having to buy double the medication. Treatment that could’ve been handled with just the kitten, I now had to pay all over again for the cat who caught his illnesses. And now I’m just hoping my third cat isn’t next. I genuinely don’t understand how they gave us zero guidance at the first visit. A simple warning like: “We treated the eyes, but conjunctivitis can be a symptom of common contagious viruses. We won’t know without testing. It may be best to keep him separated until we rule things out. Also, without a stool sample we can’t confirm worms, but it’s very common in kittens, so keep him away from other pets and anyone with a weaken immune system like children and elderly folks .” would have prevented all of this. When I expressed my concerns to the vet, she was dismissive and patronizing. Her response was, “It’s very common for kittens to be born with worms,” which makes it even more confusing why she didn’t say that at the first appointment. She also told me I should see my own doctor because the worms the kitten has can be passed to humans… again, something that would’ve been useful to know before exposing my entire household. Because of Banfield’s lack of communication and laziness, my once-healthy cat is now sick with everything the kitten had when he was supposedly “good to go.” The front desk ladies are always very nice, but whatever is happening in the back room is careless, rushed, and honestly lazy. I’m extremely disappointed.

If I could give them a zero I would! I had never been here before being new to the area. I saw how this vet had good reviews so I decided to give it a try. I made two appointments on different days one for my cat and one for my dog. Separate to make it easier. Everything was good and then I noticed that they must have canceled one of my original appointments. Next thing you know there appointments are together on the same day. That’s odd, but I guess it can still work. The employees also talked very rudely towards my 16 year old daughter. Do not recommend!
