- ZZZwolfdogsNov 1, 20251.0Their “most experienced” groomer INJURED MY DOG. She manhandled my corgi in the worst possible way when picking up up/down during a simple routine nail cut & buff. I was helpless just to watch due to their sound proof glass and the fact that they don’t let you in the back with your dog. The groomer, Amanda, picked up my corgi with one hand on his soft stomach, forcing all his weight and then some, onto his soft organ and up into his body. For somebody with “lots of training”, “25 years of experience”, and “handled many corgis before”, Amanda showed that Petco Grooming has NO CLUE how to handle small, longer dogs, and that I can’t have any trust over their employees if their training leads to this. Not to mention my dog’s nails were barely trimmed & were buffed, so from a health/parenting perspective, his nails could’ve been cut down more to help them not grow back so fast. But from a visual perspective, his nails looked goofy and not anywhere near show quality. And fyi, my corgi has his nails cut bi-weekly, he’s very well taken care of. Petco Grooming sucks. Local groomers will let you back with your dog PLUS won’t charge you for both a nail cut & buff when they only need a buff.
