  My dog (65lb doodle with no matting except for behind the ears) has been going to Petco grooming in Wyo for the last 4 years. She gets a bath and cut which has always come out to $108 plus tax plus tip. I took her in for an appt tonight and immediately the girl tried to talk me into all this stuff my dog has NEVER needed. I knew what she was doing right away, I said okay what would the total be? I just want a bath and cut (remember...not body matting and 65lbs medium length). She proceeded to tell me $169. My jaw dropped to the floor and I said ive never paid that price for my doodle that ive been having groomed for 8+years. She said "well the manager before her wasn't charging correctly." Im sorry, what? You mean she wasn't overcharging and trying to oversell customers? I said absolutely not and walked out with dog. I got in the car and called Petco in Exeter and explained what just happened without telling them the price they quoted me. I gave her all the details about my dog and guess what the price was? $108. She told me they are run by different managers. She said no way should that be that much! Needless to say we have an appt at Petco in Exeter. BE CAREFUL AND ASK BEFORE THEY TAKE YOUR DOG BACK!

  The most disrespectful group of girls that did nothing but scam us. Adding additional charges, forcing us to pay before they let our dog out. Horrible service, and disgusting workers I have an English lab and they said it's long hair. Extra!! She told us to read small print, and said we do whatever we want. Never ever again.

  They throw out THOUSANDS of pounds of dog food, live crickets, fish, birds, pet supplies, collars, dog jackets, everything you can think of...Literally in their dumpsters. But they yell if you dumpster dive. Please take your business to smaller supply stores or online.

  Ugh. I hate leaving a review less than 5 stars but here we go. It’s a long one. I’ve been taking my same dog here for years. Always between $60-70 depending on their inflation. They have done a nice job sometimes and a not so nice job sometimes. So it’s pretty inconsistent. There are some nice staff members and some grumpy ones. So, it’s a 50/50 shot. Today was a different beast. The groomer herself was definitely a nice gal and she did do a good job! But walking in, she asked if I wanted to add tooth brushing. I said yes. Then she asked about nail cutting and I was inclined to say no but she gave me some reason why she should. Whatever - I said yes again. Then I got a glance at the quote and was shocked. His bath and cut was $117??? I questioned this immediately and was told he was 82 pounds. I know this. He has been since I started bringing him and I was NEVER charged that before. I even looked at my transaction history to be sure. She said, “well, I can’t speak for the other groomers.” I mean, fair response, but how the heck is it just changing out of nowhere?? I left there $175 and was just dismayed. Needless to say, I’m going to stick to PetSmart which is generally a better experience anyway. They didn’t have availability today and now I’m pretty sure I know why… To summarize, the groomer was good. The experience was not and had I been told an accurate price ahead of time, it would’ve been fine. But don’t pull a bait and switch at the door when his size was well-documented.
