Sadly we had to let our kitty go over the Rainbow Bridge last weekend. We and our kitty were shown great compassion and kindness. Thank you to all the people that helped us thru a difficult situation.

I had a really disappointing experience with Dr. Swann at this veterinary surgeon’s office. From the start, her attitude came across as cocky and dismissive. When she asked about my dog’s weight, I explained that she eats plenty but has a naturally slender build because she’s a Frenchton. She cut me off mid-sentence and said, “Yeah, I know what a Frenchton is,” in a curt, condescending tone. It immediately set a negative tone for the appointment. She also implied that I was an irresponsible owner because some of my dog’s vaccinations were done at Tractor Supply, meaning there were no records in her system. Rather than asking for clarification, she compared my file to my previous vet’s records in a way that felt judgmental and unnecessary. My dog was then taken to the back room for her exam without me, and she became so frightened that she defecated and bit the vet - something she has never done before. That told me she didn’t feel safe, whether because of how she was handled or the energy in the room. On top of everything, I wasn’t even able to schedule the surgery we came in for. Dr. Swann said she couldn’t operate because my dog was breaking out from allergies (which I understood), but also mentioned she’s retiring soon - which made me question why she accepted us for a surgical consult in the first place. Overall, I left feeling disrespected and uneasy about how my dog was treated. I wouldn’t recommend this office for timid or anxious pets, or to anyone expecting patience, professionalism, and basic courtesy. Such a waste of money and time.

I’ve been dealing with a Michelle over the phone and I cannot say enough good things about this woman. I was short and rude with her when we first spoke, and she turned around and was nothing but kind, compassionate, educated, patient, and had the best interest of my pet in her mind. Even if you do not go down to the clinic. She was giving me phone numbers left and right to try to ease my mind, Don’t listen to what everyone has to say on here. Like the other reviews on this, I cannot say enough good things about the place, and I was never even there!!!! Thank you so much, Michelle and the rest of the staff down there. Thank you for taking care of my the most precious person/dog in my life

I had to change my five-star rating to a one after yesterday’s visit. My baby boy, Ralphie, has digestive issues. My regular vet treated him as long as she could, and it was time for him to see a veterinary internist. I was set up with Dr. Runde for my appointment, and everything went well. I was genuinely happy with everything and with Dr. Runde. My dog had his procedure that same week, and everything went smoothly. However, when I came back for a recheck, this is where the problem arose, and I realized that many of the reviews here reflect exactly what I experienced. I walked in, and a tech immediately took Ralphie from me, saying she’d be back. I assumed this was standard procedure, as they had examined my boy in another area during our first visit. She brought him back, and then the doctor came in and sat down. He didn’t look at me even once, instead focusing on the computer while talking. I had so many questions about what Ralphie should eat due to his digestive issues. I tried to ask him about food portions, what his bowel movements should be like, how long they should remain a certain way, etc.—all related to the condition he was treating—but he answered none of my questions. I spent thousands on the procedure, yet I received no guidance. I could tell he didn’t really want to answer my questions; he didn’t answer any. It felt as if I was annoying him. I had just spent almost $4,000 at this place (total), plus a $128 recheck. I brought up my dog’s belly, which was red, itchy, and inflamed. I know that’s not what he was treating, but I thought maybe he could at least look at it for me. Even if I had to pay extra, I wanted to know if it was a side effect from the medication. He commented along the lines of, “We’re here for this, not that,” meaning we were only there for the digestive issue. What kind of doctor wouldn’t at least take a look? He didn’t even examine my dog or touch him. What kind of recheck is that? Then the most troubling part happened. He was looking at the computer, reviewing everything, and asked, “Would you like us to do bloodwork?” In my head, I realized that’s why the tech had taken Ralphie out of the room earlier—they had already taken his blood. The doctor then said, “Oh, we already have it.” They never asked me or told me they were taking my dog for bloodwork. The only reason I said yes when he asked if I wanted them to run it was because it dawned on me—they already did it. I’m not someone who likes confrontation; I tend to let things happen and don’t speak up. It’s a bad trait to have, but it’s how I am. I should have spoken up. The bloodwork was $352.00, and I was never aware they were doing it. When I got to reception, the bill was $556.00. First of all, the recheck was $128, which I wouldn’t have minded if I had actually received a recheck—he didn’t even look at my dog or touch him. When the receptionist told me $556, I almost fell over. I should have spoken up: $352 for the bloodwork I never approved, and $128 for a recheck that was essentially nonexistent. The doctor was in the room for three minutes, left before I did, and simply said Ralphie “looks great.” I will never go back here or refer anyone to this place. I’ve spent almost $4,000 here, only to be treated that way. I am so hurt by this because it hurts my boy—not knowing all I should know about his condition. However, I will say that all the receptionists and techs are wonderful, besides the one who took my dog for bloodwork unbeknownst to me. I have to give a shout-out to the receptionists, especially my favorite, the blonde-haired receptionist. I’m sorry I forgot her name. She’s sweet, helpful, and compassionate. Unfortunately, you get no compassion from Dr. Runde. I will never return to this place.
