The store is large, but almost looks like a bargain store or going out of business sale. Aquariums are stacked around and crowded while other areas look to be almost empty.

I visited the Vetco clinic at this location on Saturday 10/28. I have used this Vetco for 3 years now. I've never had an issue, always had quick, easy service. In the past they've made my two cats feel completely comfortable, even sprayed towels with feliway to make them comfortable and answered any general health questions I've had. This time I came in a few minutes early for my 4:30 and 4:35 appointments for my cats. They were extremely backed up, which I understand happens sometimes so I waited patiently with my cats for over an hour and wasn't super concerned because I've always had a good experience here. When it got to our turn I walked in and placed my first cat up on the counter in her carrier. When they opened it she hissed quietly and was curled up leaning away from the vet obviously nervous. The older lady veterinarian asked me dryly how she normally does at the vet. I told her she's never had an issue at any vet she's been to. Never swatted at anyone, maybe hissed once or twice but was never violent. Her assistant went to pick my cat up and she hissed quietly again but remained still. They stopped trying to pick her up and attempted to turn her carrier over to get her on her feet but she stayed frozen on her side. I offered to turn her over for them and pick her up if needed and nobody acknowledged that when I said it. The assistant offered to get a towel and scoop her up for the vet. The vet said she didn't want to do that. She tried to get the heartbeat while my cat was still frozen on her side and before she could even listen to anything she stood back up and told me "she's not going to let us do anything today. She's going to strike one of us and we are going to be bleeding and we can't have that. You're going to have to take her to your full service vet." I stood there in shock because what do you mean I waited over an hour to not have my cat vaccinated when all she did was hiss quietly twice? The older woman vet then proceeded to tell me "when they're like this you can't book at 4 or 5 o'clock. You have to book first appointment of the day. When you book this late we get backed up and then they're just getting anxious around the other animals. You should also wait outside not inside and just have us call you when it's your turn." I just stood quietly still shocked because they turned my cat away and now she's lecturing me for booking when I did? I hesitantly put my second cat up on the counter and thankfully because she didn't hiss at all they gave her her vaccines. Towards the end as they are getting my records together, I wanted to ask what specific vaccines my first cat needed so I knew exactly what to ask her full service vet for (thankfully we have a wellness check up in 2 weeks anyway). I new it was the indoor protect package and they needed rabies vaccines and dewormer but I wanted to make sure I had the other vaccine name correct. I asked "just so I know for the vet, what exactly does my first cat need?" The lady snapped her head up from the tablet and in a sharp voice said "everything!" I again was totally taken back and just decided to be done talking to her so I just turned my head away. Thankfully the man helping her was a lot kinder and told me it was her distemper vaccine, rabies, and dewormer. I thanked him. We left after that. I only paid for my second cat. Safe to say I won't be back to this location for vaccine services.

I just want whoever pays Gary to know that he deserves whatever he wants. I personally have never been treated with so much care and hospitality in public ever!! I came in because my dog had been scratching and biting at her back and tail NONSTOP, but I couldn’t figure out why. It hurt to watch her cry and look to me for help but I didn’t know what to do. I searched google to no avail after realizing it could be one of so many things. Gary was seriously, GENUINELY empathetic!! He sat there and talked to me until he was able to narrow my search based on the little info I had. The he found a couple of products that I took home which immediately soothed my puppy Eve btw 🙏🏾 !! I’m so grateful for Petco but specifically Gary who simply is a decent human being that didn’t have to care, but He did! I didn’t even think people were still so amazing!! Thanks Bro 🫡
