- JNJessica NNov 23, 20251.0Woman with undone rainbow hair who works in the fish department is extremely condescending and rude. Since when do you have to answer 50 questions to buy A GOLDFISH. Felt like I was trying to buy some illegal rare fish or substance. She informed me my tank was too small (20 gal) and would only sell me one. I went back the next day after getting another 20 gal started to hold him and a larger tank (I’m guessing it’s 50gal at-least) for their final destination, to grab another one. She still did not want to sell it to me until I pressed. I informed her I tested the water and it was fine. They literally sell regular goldfish by the dozen as feeders (now mine was one of the fancier ones) only to meet their end once they reach their destination. I understand wanting to ensure their welfare a little but DAMN. How many times as children have we got a goldfish from a carnival plopped it into a tiny round bowl of sink water and it lived for what felt like forever? Is the point not to sell fish instead of talking people out of it at the end of the day? Editing to add: this lady made me feel like a POS, for wanting to get my kid some GOLDFISH. I will be taking my business to Petsmart and local shops from now on.
