They would be a great vet if they didn't try to upsale you. Estimated $200 visit was almost $400.

I am writing to share a very disappointing experience I had when I called my local Banfield hospital regarding my dog, Maizie. She has Addison’s syndrome, and I was extremely worried about a sudden issue with her eye that I did not know could be neurological, infection-related, or something more serious. When I called, I spoke with Ellie. Right from the start she was condescending in her tone. After I explained what was going on, she responded with, “What do you want me to do for you?” I told her that I wasn’t sure — that was why I was calling for professional guidance. She then said, “I’m just a receptionist.” I expressed that the conversation felt very strange and unhelpful, as I was calling a veterinary office in distress about my pet. Ellie told me I could send a photo and that “when they have time” someone could look at it, but also stated that Maizie could not be seen that day regardless. At no point did she express concern, compassion, or urgency about my dog’s condition. This was an awful experience. When I asked her name, she gave it to me in an almost cheerful, condescending way, as though she was unconcerned about my frustration. I have never been treated like that when seeking care for my dog, especially in a moment of real worry. Thankfully, I remembered that I had access to Banfield PetChat through my plan. I reached out there, and the veterinary team was absolutely wonderful — compassionate, informative, and supportive. I truly believe no pet owner should be made to feel dismissed or uncared for when seeking urgent help. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so that others don’t have the same experience.

Banfield Hospital was very courteous and patient with Myself and my cat. They answered my questions and even informed me of information that I did not know.

Can’t put anything lower than one star. From receptionist, to techs, to doctors…. Don’t trust any fur baby in their care. You are a number and fee to them. No love, no compassion, no tolerance, no empathy! Just a cha Ching… give me lots of money and then “next”

It was significantly better when we started to go about 7 years ago. Service has decreased and you are lucky if you even talk to the vet. We used to have a conversation with the vet at the beginning while they did physical assessment, now everything is done in a back room out of sight. They also push drop off appointments but do not share much information on how everything went. If it weren’t for the wellness plans, we likely would have switched vets by now.
