- GGGraceDec 29, 20252.0I do not usually shop at petco because of the way they care for the reptiles is absolutely gross. The employees are NOT knowledgeable in the care of 99% of the retiles! I left there with nothing at first, then after talking to my husband, I ended up turning around and buying one of the geckos. Petco needs to do better. For example, crested geckos should NOT be housed together, they SHOULD be housed in an arboreal tank. The temperatures in the tank should be in the 70s and humidity should be between 60-80%....NOT 30%!! There was NO pangea in the tank, NO crickets or live food, 3 geckos in the same tiny tank, NO Water and when i mentioned to the employees that the tank needed sprayed, the lady was snarky and said "if you're worried about the humidity I sprayed the tank this morning". I tried communicating with the employees about the care of the crested geckos and they refused to listen. All of the geckos were SO dark and looked so unhappy...like 99% of the reptiles there. I got my gecko home, sprayed her new tank and her tongue was going crazy she was so thirsty. I gave her fresh pangea and held it up to her and she went crazy....PETCO HAS TO START DOING BETTER!!!!! Corporate should be making care of animals and reptiles education a PRIORITY! However, since I got my crested gecko home, she is doing so much better, loving her space and has eaten so well. She has also started to lighten up. I cant wait to see her growth and progress.

- MRMelisa RobinsonDec 12, 20254.0This place has a nice variety of things and a decent selection. This particular location is clean and well organized. I give it 4 stars for two reasons. One, they signed me up for a rewards program that ended up costing 10 dollars a month without my knowledge or understanding. It is a good reward program but it is only good for one pet (or type of pet). So, if I wanted to get rewards for 3 types of animals, does that mean I have to pay for 3 reward programs because I have dogs, cats, and birds. Two, if its not on sale, they are so expensive. There are lots of less expensive options. They do have great pet adoptions. Periodically, free or affordable pet vaccines and also, now and then a veterinarian will come in and give you the opportunity to get nasic prescription medication for your pet without a veterinarian bill.
