I’m a normal client at a location much further from me and needed a quick visit for a nail trim for my cat as she recently had an ingrown nail that I had already treated and had healed. I called this location and they pulled all of my pet’s files from the other Banfield location. They made my appointment, confirmed the ~$20 charge for a nail trim (I confirmed several times during the call that there was no additional fees) and I thought that it would be a quick easy visit. I was unfortunately mistaken and the manager decided less than 24 hours before the appointment that I also needed to pay an additional $80 for an office visit. This caught me completely off guard and seemed foolish to pay $100 for a nail trim for a cat. It honestly felt to me like the manager decided they needed to generate more permanent patients for some kind of metrics or they were just trying to hit sales goals. I made the mistake of branching out from my normal location and now I’m pretty burned out on Banfield altogether and will likely be looking elsewhere for all three of my cat’s health.

Wish I could say wonderful things - BUT - The rapid turnover of staff is disconcerting. If we saw the same vet and desk staff more than once, perhaps we could feel a bond and a sense of trust. Like everything else, vet fees are a brutal hit on a retiree's fixed income and I don't feel I am getting my money's worth of care. I KNOW you're busy. I KNOW everything's more expensive. I KNOW administration is making unreasonable demands of the front line workers. I'm afraid that I simply won't be able to afford another cat when my 3 darlings pass. And I will be so sad.

We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
