TANDEM Cat® Grooming is a team-based clinical art form developed by Master of Social Work Shawn Lioyryan and neuroscientist Dr. Daniel Lioy, both Certified TANDEM Cat® Groomers. This innovative method blends trauma-informed care, feline body mechanics, and behavioral fluency to create a grooming experience that is both safe and profoundly transformational. Using team-based stabilization, one to two groomers gently support the cat’s posture while a lead groomer works with precision and calm—reducing stress, enhancing safety, and protecting the nervous system. Every step is support-based and co-regulated. From complex medical grooms to routine coat care, our approach is tailored, somatic, and grounded in clinical skill.
