  I first met Dr. Poet 25 years ago when I was new to the valley and needed to euthanize my elderly cat. I was immediately struck by his compassion and comfort in such a difficult time. Since then, we have been incredibly lucky to call him our family vet. He has been there through the lives of our many pets over the years, and when the difficult times arrive, he always provides practical care and insights into our relationships with our pets that most people don't realize. As others have mentioned there is never pressure for costly solutions and he always tells it to you like it is so you can make an informed decision about your pet's care. Dr. Poet and his caring staff are all incredible practitioners and deserve the highest praise. Words really don't suffice. Thank you Steve and everyone at Best Friends of East Medford, you're the best!

  This vet (Dr. Poet) is the best vet. I took this placefor granted when living in Medford. He gave our animals top notch care while not pressuring us into costly and unnecessary tests and medicines. We have since moved to Portland and have yet to find a vet that compares to the care we received from Dr. Poet. I hope this place continues on in the legacy they have built for many years to come! We miss you Dr. Poet!

  Steve Poet and staff are the absolute best in the Rogue Valley and the best our family has ever had anywhere ever. Our animals have been his patients since we moved here almost 20 years ago in January of 2007. Kind, compassionate, affordable and is always right on about outcomes. He knows how to diagnose and treat like no vet I have ever been to in my 77+ years of my lifetime. If only all humans could be as wonderful and caring and honest as Steve and his staff, the world would be such a better place.

  Dr. Poet and the other doc is wonderful, caring, compassionate, they go out of their way and sometimes do stuff just to be charitable if it's a worthy cause. They are beyond wonderful.
