  Do NOT buy plants from their tank. I want to preface this with, the only items in the 2.5 gallon tank were from this store. I purchased two plants from here over a month ago. I quarantined them in a 2.5 gallon tank (also purchased with the plants), to make sure that there were no issues/unwanted hitchhikers into my 10 gallon tank. There was a ramshorn snail that was on the plant, but that wasn't an issue and I left it in the 2.5 gallon. Since it had been over a month without incident I finally moved just one of the plants over to my 10 gallon. A few days later the ramshorn snail started acting weird and passed. Come to find out, Planaria (a snail, shrimp, and weak/old fish killer that I have attached a picture of that I took) had come in off of the plants. If they were on the two plants I purchased I can almost guarantee they are on the other plants in the tank — as Planaria will hide/lay eggs in plant roots. The Planaria are also nocturnal, which makes it hard to know they are even there until something happens. Now I'm working on damage control for my 10 gallon that has a Horned Nerite snail and Amano shrimp in it. If you have a nerite snail, like I do, you can't use any of the medications used to kill off Planaria as it is likely to kill the snail, too. I didn't purchase items from any Petco for DECADES after one Petco, in my hometown, refused to remove recalled cat food (which resulted in the death of my kitten) at the confirmation of the manager (they had, honestly, said they knew of the recall and didn't care). I decided to try Petco again, as I'd moved across the country and figured why not, and now this. I can recommend the tanks/equipment, but nothing else. If you've purchased a plant from their tank already, PLEASE check your aquarium. It's likely you've accidentally purchased a plant with Planaria, too.

  Incredible staff at this location. Always extremely kind. Had some punks try to cut me in line today and the employee working the register kindly thwarted their efforts in a professional and nonchalant manner. 10/10
