  I had a pretty disappointing experience at Petco yesterday. When I walked in, there were about four employees standing around talking. While they did greet me, that was pretty much the extent of the interaction. I spent some time walking around trying to find what I needed, but couldn’t locate it. When I went back to the front to ask for help looking for sand for my hamster, it honestly felt like I was interrupting them. The employee who helped me seemed disengaged and responded with, “like the bathing sand?” which didn’t feel very helpful considering I was clearly unsure. She showed me where it was and then immediately walked away without offering any additional assistance. I also went over to the fish section because I was planning to get some snails, but the employee working there just stared at me and didn’t ask if I needed help. On top of that, all the snails in the tank appeared to be dead, which was concerning. When I went back up front to check out, the group of employees awkwardly stopped their conversation, rang me up, and that was it. The whole experience felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. To make matters worse, the item I purchased was noticeably overpriced compared to Petsmart. Overall, the customer service was lacking and the store didn’t leave a great impression.

  DO NOT GO HERE OR ANY OF THEIR STORES. I love my dog and spoil her to the max. I also accept the fact, dog food, treats, etc can be expensive. PetCo company stores overprice the products they sell. I can feel, as I walk through the door, their vaccum starting taking my money. Do you and your pet a favor, go to PetSmart. Better yet, find a local store and support small businesses!

  There’s always not only friendly staff, but staff who know what they’re talking about. I like that they own fish of their own so they know how to give me the correct recommendations and the best deals to save money on products. I definitely recommend beginners to Petco.

  Google Maps says they closes at 9:00 p.m., confirmed by business 4 weeks ago. However the sign on the door says that they close at 8:00pm and it's 8:30pm. Waste of a trip so I ordered it food and some other stuff via Amazon and setup a auto-ship subscription. After visits bi-weekly for over 13 years this was probably my last trip to petsmart.
