Dr. Jang and the staff were absolutely incredible. I had to hear really hard news and they all surrounded me with support and helped navigate challenging decisions with respect of my family and breaking the news with young children. I felt full compassion, patience, and understanding from the entire team that worked with us and can't imagine a better group to have on my side as I face one of the hardest goodbyes. I would never recommend anywhere else for pet care. Such beautiful, kindhearted people.

Dr. Jang is awesome.
I first went in for a wellness check up and just had some general questions about my new kitty. He answered all my questions on a very “easy to understand” level and even took a look at my pet insurance with me. He Informed me of some programs that Banfield vet has as well that might be a good alternative or addition to my insurance.
He also went over when my cats vaccines would be expiring and when I should get him in here next and things to keep an eye on over the next few weeks.
Brought my cat back a few weeks later for some lingering concerns and Dr. Jang was great again!! Took the time to understand what’s going on, explained his findings and gave me a wellness plan for my kitty.
Very pleased with my experience here - the vet techs and desk staff are fantastic too! I would highly recommend! … and take advantage of the free first visit!

I have been coming to this location for many years and I’ve had all of my pets with Banfield. I have brought my pets in for stitches and staples with no problem over the past couple years. It seems like every time I bring my pets in. they refer me to the emergency room for simple procedures that they have done in the past They have a policy that sick and injured pets are first to be seen and first to be taken care of. But after an appointment was made and worked in by the staff, I was refused to be seen and referred to an ER hospital. They told me that would be more cost-effective. I price the procedure at the ER hospital and it was an excess of $600. I went to the Banfield on 71st St. and was welcomed with open arms and worked in. it was able to use my benefits with a Banfield wellness hospital and get my dog taken care of for significantly less than what this hospital was trying to refer me to. I do not recommend this location and I recommend that leadership take a look at this location and make some adjustments and policies and procedures. If you say you’re gonna be able to work somebody in keep to your promise a huge inconvenience for me today.

To add to our heartache, we called the vet to cancel our pet insurance because our baby went to doggy heaven last night. The lady gave us a number to call to cancel the plan. She didn't say anything else, not even a sorry for your loss or anything. Our baby has been going there for years (even before she worked there). We were there a lot because we always had to get refills on his 3 medications, shots, routine care, and had other babies that needed care. None of the old staff are there any more and the service is terrible. We have gone without medication refills because the "new" doctor hadn't seen our baby yet. They didn't offer to get it refilled anywhere else or give an emergency refill until he could be seen. We also asked about end of life for our baby because of his illnesses and side effects. They continued to tell us that he had "good quality of life." Because I work in hospice, I knew better so I called Lapse of Love Dog Hospice who are EDUCATED in end stages of illness and diseases. They listened and provided valuable information as to the stages of life our baby was in. Just because your baby is eating, drinking, and excited to see you does NOT mean that Congestive Heart Failure isn't taking its course or cant cause poor quality of life. Our baby was suffering and we ALL deserved better.
We were concerned about our other baby who seemed depressed and gaining weight. The vet said he was just a "relaxed dog" who needed "exercise." Thankfully they had a DIFFERENT vet that tested his thyroid and sure enough, that was the culprit. We only stayed because of that one vet and now that he is gone, there is clearly no need for our business.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?

You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
