Money hungry and extremely unhelpful, I wanted to bring a stray cat in for the most general exam to maybe get a gender confirmation and an age because I already had a thorough appointment set up later this month. Instead they said I’d have to do every test and they pressured my girlfriend into signing a form to allow every test they wanted eventually costing me nearly $300, since I planned to use that for the next appointment I am now trying to save back up for the appointment that I ALREADY HAVE SCHEDULED THAT I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR. Thank you dearly, the animals at this place deserve a higher pay grade than the bafoon “employees”.

I waited for over an hour in the fish area for the girl to help me. I had 3 fish I up front already, and then when I wanted more, she had left to help some random lady and her dog even though that isn't her department. She looked directly at me while petting a dog and said "Everyone's busy." She made eye contact with me 3 more times throughout the time I was waiting, continuing to ignore me. Why the hell this store can't keep at least 1 person in each department at a time is beyond me instead of having their employees wander off to random sections for long stretches of time and losing them business. I already had fish up front and wanted a few more, but now I am getting none because these people don't know how to do their jobs. I wish the guy with dark curly hair that usually does the fish had been there today, since it seems like he likes being over there at least and is nice. She couldn't have cared less about making me wait 30 more minutes while the fish up front slowly die in their plastic bag up front.

I usually never leave reviews, but my experience today at this Petco was unbelievable. The manager on duty was extremely rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. I came in with a simple issue, and instead of trying to assist me, they acted like I was bothering them. Their tone was unprofessional, their attitude was nasty, and they made no effort to resolve the situation. As a customer, I expect basic respect and at least an attempt to help — especially from management. Instead, I left frustrated and honestly shocked that someone with that attitude is representing the store. Petco seriously needs to address this, because this kind of treatment is unacceptable.

I’ve left a review for this location once before. I can’t say I’ve actually ever had a positive experience in this location. I’ve bought two pets from this location, one was dead when I purchased it, (a millipede) the other was a frog that unfortunately died 2 days after getting him from red leg. There was an employee, a bald woman, who assisted me when I was buying the frog. She was just incredibly rude, and didn’t have anything nice really to say to me. I know it’s not her job to be friendly, but at the same time it is. The millipede I purchased today was $15.99 and when I got home, I sifted through substrate for about an hour, and the only thing I found was a dead body in the cup, no live milipede. The rep who sold me the bug didn’t give me a receipt. So when I went in to return it and get something else, I was met with obstacles. The new rep who helped me. Didn’t catch her name, but she has lip piercings, and she was super sweet, calmed me down a little after being frustrated, and answered my questions the best she could. So props to her for being the one single nice person in the store. I shop here as little as possible, since multiple animals I’ve purchased were sick or unwell, I’ve even tried to purchase betta fish here once before and the bald woman told me that my 10 gallon tank was not enough, she refused to sell me a fish cause I wouldn’t buy a 20gal tank, and so the fish I was planning on buying stays in his little cup of stagnant water :( I wish the employees here were a bit more nice. Girl with the piercings tho. Thanks for helping me and this bad review has nothing to do with you, I just don’t vibe with some of the coworkers and the company as a whole. Shop local pet stores, not chains. Petco is the worst.

I awoke today, my day off, my day of rest, to what sounded like an air horn. The creature in my home that looks like a cat is enormous and built like an opera singer. Pipes on him like an organ, and he was giving me his loudest and worst rendition of Bach's Passacaglia and Fugue in C Minor. His autofeeder was empty. His bag of food was empty. My roommate's bag of food was empty. I didn't have much time before he deafened me, razed the house to the ground and salted the earth. I shambled blearily into the Petco looking and feeling like the wad of hair you pull out of the shower drain. I grabbed my usual and shuffled to the check out. The angel at the register clocked the "sensitive stomach" formula and went, "Have you tried this other brand? It's what I feed my cats, it has great ingredients and it's cheaper." I have not tried that brand. I'm always on the lookout for a new food though, because despite the fact that I suspect him to be some kind of Panzer in furs, he has a delicate little tummy and seems to delight in puking in walkways to ambush the unsuspecting passer-by. Not only did she give me advice on food, but on how to cut down on the puking in the first place. He tends to inhale his food, make himself sick, and hurks up what is essentially soft, wet piles of kibble. Whiny Baby Food for the Delicate Constitution and smaller, more frequent portions helped, but didn't fix the problem entirely. She told me to take away his water for 30 minutes after eating, so the water didn't make the kibble swell in his stomach. Genius. She even went and got the food for me when she noticed that I wasn't exactly firing on all cylinders. I am now appropriately caffeinated and the monster is purring on my lap like a misfiring diesel. Thank you, Petco Angel, for your help and guidance in this trying time. I didn't have the presence of mind to get your name, but I will be thinking of you with gratitude every day my carpet goes unsoiled and I know my cat-shaped bulldozer is feeling fine. He's a horrible freak of nature, but he deserves the best. Thank you for helping me give that to him. This review has been edited to show a couple of photographs of the beast that holds me hostage in my own home. I believe it is worth noting that the man pictured is 6'4" tall.
