No shave. Petco’s published price for this is $39. Yet my charges have been completely inconsistent: • 1st appointment: $50 • 2nd appointment: $54 • 3rd appointment: $61 All three visits were for the exact same service. The price keeps increasing with no explanation. When reviewing my receipt from the most recent appointment, I found a $5.99 “materials fee.” I called the store and spoke with the shift manager, Makayla, who said the fee was for shampoo, and told me to call back the next morning to speak with her manager, Shafic. When I spoke with Shafic, he said the fee was actually for “sharpening blades.” Two managers, two completely different stories for a charge that was never disclosed. They also charged me for a “large long-hair” service even though my dog is a short-haired breed. I specifically told the groomer not to cut her nails because she doesn’t tolerate it well, yet they cut them anyway — and then tried to justify the upcharge by pointing to a form I signed at drop-off. When I asked Shafic to refund the incorrect long-hair charge, he refused. I told him that if he wouldn’t fix the overcharge, then I wouldn’t be coming back. His response was: “OK, that’s fine.” There is no transparency, no consistency, and zero accountability at this location. At this point, it feels like the Strongsville Petco grooming salon adds undisclosed fees and random upcharges with no clear explanation and no willingness to correct their mistakes. I will not be returning.
