Very pleased with Vetco from start to finish. My first time there. Brought in a feral kitten who we had spayed and eartipped a week before by a horrible shelter. Shelter would not test or vaccinate for anything other than rabies and had no interest in helping kitten get adopted. We had potential home but only if kitten tested negative for FeLV. She tested negative, got a full examination and she was in her new home that same day. The adoptive mom is bringing her back to Vetco for all her necessary vaccines. We were given a new customer discount, which was unexpected and wonderful as we were just trying to help this precious kitten, not adopt her ourselves

Gave us our time in the room with our beloved dog gizmo, let us feed his fav meal and a once in a lifetime chocolate shake. Gave us our time alone with him and made it as swift and smooth as needed. Clear with my response and needs. Thank you greatly. Took care of gizmo with care. Thank you. Awaiting his ashes now.

Now that I’ve had time to digress, I can give my clear head review. I took my fur baby in for a wellness check and some bloodwork as she was experiencing excessive urination and thirst. Her behavior, appetite and bathroom schedule were all normal, same as always. They noticed her tummy was a bit distended and she was a senior dog 14 years old but again, no signs of discomfort or pain. They took her bloodwork and did a free X-ray which was appreciated but they were still unable to get a clear diagnosis and so was told to return for a sonogram once I was able to get together the money. Here is where the bad review begins- they insisted that she get her rabies vaccine as it’s the law. I looked at them and said does she have to? I should’ve argued further of what I was thinking which was is it safe to give a rabies vaccination to a senior dog without knowing the diagnosis of her underlying health issues? We had to wait a few days for the results but since they didn’t think anything of it, I trusted them and figured maybe I was being dramatic bc I love my dog so much. 24 hours she suffered from vomiting and seizures after that vaccination and ultimately had to be put to sleep as she was in critical condition. I don’t want to place blame on anyone but I will say this- I wish I would’ve spoken up and waited until after her results to be vaccinated and that’s something I have to live with everyday. My suggestion for Vetco is nx time don’t push any vaccines or treatments before you are able to diagnose a pet. Todays been a week since she’s been gone and can’t help but feel guilty that I took her to Vetco and lost my fur baby 24 hours later. Her bloodwork returned after her death and she did have underlying issues but I know had she not been given that vaccination, she wouldn’t have suffered the way she did those 24 hours after and would have been given a chance to seek treatment or say goodbye while she was at peace. I felt I had to leave this review for future pet owners who are considering Vetco. Just make sure you ask all questions and don’t allow them to inject your pets with NOTHING until a diagnosis is confirmed. I hope no one will have to endure what I have experienced.
