I do not recommend. What’s the point of paying a monthly fee when you can never get the services that Your animals need?

Extremely disappointed with Banfield Pet Hospital in Valley Stream.
My dog’s appointment was scheduled for 8:30 AM, and it’s now after 5 PM — I still haven’t gotten her back. This is completely unacceptable. If you’re going to schedule appointments for specific times, then patients should be seen around those times. Don’t overbook to the point where dogs are stuck there 8–9 hours with little to no communication.
What makes this worse is that the main reason for my visit still wasn’t done, so I basically wasted an entire day for nothing. And unfortunately, this isn’t even the first time this has happened the last visit was also hours long, just not this extreme.
The place was overcrowded, understaffed, and there was only one vet handling a huge number of dogs. At one point, they even mentioned the vet was on lunch break while everyone was still waiting. I completely understand needing breaks, but with that many clients waiting, that’s just poor scheduling and unprofessional management.
Overall, the lack of communication, organization, and respect for clients time is very disappointing and distasteful. Banfield really needs to do better.

If I could give ZERO stars I would
This Banfield location is an absolute nightmare. The staff are incredibly rude, condescending, and completely unprofessional. They’ll change your pet’s appointment the day before without even bothering to notify you properly, then act like it’s your fault when you show up. No apologies, no accountability, and definitely no effort to fix the mess they caused.
They claim there are no in-person appointments available, but if you somehow get one scheduled, they’ll cancel or convert it last minute—and then tell you it’ll be five or more hours before you can even pick up your dog. I’ve been to multiple Banfield hospitals and none of them are this chaotic, disorganized, or disrespectful.
The attitude from this staff is beyond unacceptable. It’s clear they pick and choose who they treat with basic respect, and the overall energy here is cold, dismissive, and downright unpleasant.
If you care about your pet or your sanity, do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. This place shouldn’t even be operating under the Banfield name.

Unprofessional. Lack of communication.
I have been calling multiple times a day with urgency regarding my pet’s upcoming appointment and a confusing text message I received from this office. Despite my repeated attempts to get in touch, no one has returned my calls, and no one is picking up the phone. This is not only unprofessional but completely unacceptable, especially when it involves the health and well-being of a pet under their care.
Also, I am the type of person to make my appointments three-six months in advance because we NEVER do drop offs, ever. We always get in room appointments. They always mess that up, despite the front desk girls claiming they made a note in my dogs chart for always in room appointment, someone's always dropping the ball.
I have contacted Banfield via email, but their autoreply told me it takes two days to reply?
I will update my review to reflect the lovely doctors that takes care of my dog, because they deserve 4 stars, but for now this place gets a 1 star from me.
UPDATE:
10/10 the day after my review.
My dog's appointment was moved up to today, IN ROOM. As his chart has IN ROOM ONLY. I confirmed multiple times over the phone.
I had to requested off PTO for this appointment as its 10am. I went and they told me it was a drop off. The girl in the front desk, forgot her name even told me, they don't know why they scheduled a drop off when it clearly states my dog is in room only.
Not only did I wasted my time to go to this appointment, my dog was not seen. I lost a PTO day that I cannot get back.
I cannot believe the experience I am having with Banfield.
I waited to speak to Lena, but she was in surgery. I did reach out to corporate and they are taking 3-5 business days to review.
I am disappointed with the feedback I am receiving with this facility.. I have spoken to several other families who are getting the same issues as well and I plan on gathering signatures from these families and taking this to the state and local agency that handles professional conduct and consumer protection, such as the state's Department of Health, Office of Professional Medical Conduct and Consumers affairs. If they get back to me within a timely manner, I will consider moving forward and not taking any action regarding filing a report.
