1st time customer here. Excellent experience from phone call to cashing out. Kristen was extremely helpful with my parokete questions and even took a little time to look at my birdcage setup to see what I needed for a happy home for our new bird. Will be going back again. I purchased a ferret from Everything Pets at the beginning of August and, unfortunately, the experience has been extremely disappointing. Within days of bringing her home, I noticed symptoms of illness. At first, I assumed it was stress from a new environment, but her condition quickly worsened.
I took her to the vet immediately. The first visit came back normal, but my gut told me something more was wrong. After an emergency visit and extensive testing, we found out she had a bacterial infection and coronavirus. These are illnesses caused by exposure to other animals and unsanitary environments—conditions she clearly picked up before I brought her home.
I contacted the store, only to be told there was “nothing they could do” because of their 2-day warranty. That is unacceptable. This was not an issue of buyer’s neglect—it was a sick animal sold to me at no fault of my own. Meanwhile, I’ve had to spend an additional $2,000 in vet bills on top of the $800+ I spent at purchase, just to keep her alive.
I love my ferret and she is now part of my family, so returning her was never an option. But the lack of compassion, responsibility, or even partial compensation from this store is shocking. When you buy a pet, you expect that it comes from a healthy and safe environment—not one where animals are exposed to disease.
If you are considering buying from Everything Pets, please be aware: you may be taking home a sick animal along with thousands of dollars in unexpected medical bills.
