Veterinarian availability varies—book an appointment to ensure one is onsite. Clinics provide only routine vaccines and preventive tests. For emergencies, visit the nearest emergency vet hospital.
Vetco was fabulous. There was no wait at all. My dog was treating with much care and kindness. The vet and vet tech were professional and discussed possible symptoms and ones that are rare. I was told how to treat the symptoms and if the rare one happens I was told to go to a dog hospital, I’m so happy with service. The price you can’t beat of the inoculations. An added plus no office visit charge.

I didn't have the same experience other reviewers had. I just got back from my vet appointment with Rocky Point Vetco for the first time. I've been going to Riverhead and Patchogue Vetco for about 2 years even though they're a 30 min drive. Today she just needed a quick vaccine so I decided to drive the 5 minutes locally. First, I'll say the women there were kind and friendly, why I'm giving 3 stars. I prefilled the paperwork the night before online. When I got there one of the women started rattling off a bunch of vaccines but not the one my dog and I came in for. I guess she picked up on my blank stare and realized she had the wrong dog. Then, when she introduced us to the doc, the doc looking at her paperwork started calling my dog the wrong name and then rattling off other different things than what we come in for. We get it all figured out and they give her her vaccine and a heart worm test. They did tell me more about her teeth in a more alarming way than any of the other vets at the other offices, but I'm not sure if it was honest and genuine or being a little more unnecessarily over the top than other vets.
Anyway, I get home and I read the email for her detailed visit and I see they prescribed her a heartworm medicine. My dog has been on Interceptor since I got her 4 years ago. They gave her some Rx script without asking me if she was already on something, and they didn't even tell me they were prescribing her anything nor explained anything about anything to do with it. It was a complete surprise. The only thing I can thing of is that the night prior filling out the paperwork I chose "Other" for her heart worm meds since Interceptor wasn't a choice in the list (and there was no spot to fill in the name). Maybe they assumed I was embarrassed to click "None" and so they went ahead and gave me a script? Maybe not, but that's all I can think of, but they could have just asked, or looked in her medical history since it's all Vetco and they have access to it and they definitely should have brought it up if they thought she wasn't taking anything. I feel like they just aren't organized in a way I want for my dog. Thankfully they didn't overvax her or give her anything she didn't need/I didn't want. I'll be driving to Patchogue and Riverhead where she gets the amazing care and attention I'm used to.
