About

VeterinarianAnimal HospitalEmergency Veterinarian ServiceVeterinary Pharmacy
Bond Vet — Astoria is Queens’ modern and convenient veterinary clinic. At Bond Vet, we provide both primary and urgent care, which means we can be your go-to vet for any service. Primary care means annual wellness exams, vaccinations and heartworm treatment, while urgent care is needed for symptoms that require timely medical attention, be it a wound, a rash, diarrhea, coughing, behavioral changes, limping or other non-life-threatening symptoms. We started Bond to modernize the vet care experience — our mission is to strengthen the human-animal bond through better pet care. That’s why we offer a wide range of medical services including annual wellness exams, vaccines, spays, neuters, dental cleanings, mass removals and even specialty orthopedic surgeries — we are qualified and more than happy to be your primary care vet. We know pets and pet parents haven’t always enjoyed visits to the vet, but we want to change that. Our clinic is warm and welcoming, with natural lighting, a treat bar, comfortable furniture, sniffable spaces and hydration stations for pets and people. In the clinics, our team is compassionate, caring, and completely dedicated to providing best-in-class veterinary care to your pet. Bond clients love our technology — we make it easy and seamless to book appointments, access medical records, and communicate with our medical team. Because we know price is a major factor in vet care, we will always offer several paths forward, along with pricing for any diagnostics or next steps. We will never pressure you into more tests and treatments than you’re comfortable doing, and we’ll save you time by helping you file pet insurance claims. We were ready for a new kind of vet experience, and we think you’ll enjoy our approach — bring your pet for routine or urgent care. Bond Vet - Astoria is located at 35-07 30th Ave in Queens, at 36th Street. Book online, call us or walk in — bondvet.com.

My cat’s primary veterinarian was unable to see him, so I took him to Bond Vet due to the clinic’s proximity to my home. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. I brought my cat in because he was having an asthma attack and coughing and needed medication for his respiratory symptoms. The veterinarian, Dr. Edith Karapet, insisted that there was a primary issue with his bladder, despite my explanation that he had no urinary symptoms and that my concern was related to his lungs. An ultrasound was ordered, which ultimately confirmed that there was nothing wrong with his bladder. More concerning, I left the appointment without any medication for my cat’s cough, even though the radiologist’s report clearly indicated lung inflammation. I contacted the clinic afterward to follow up about treatment for his coughing but never received a response. I eventually forwarded the radiology report to my cat’s primary veterinarian, who confirmed that medication should have been prescribed to keep him comfortable. I was also surprised that Dr. Karapet stated she needed to wait for the radiologist’s report to confirm what Meow had before discussing the findings. In my previous experiences, veterinarians have generally reviewed and explained X-ray results during the visit. Additionally, discussing my cat’s prognosis in the reception area, with other clients present and significant background noise, felt inappropriate and unprofessional. This conversation should have taken place in a private room. After reviewing the clinic’s Google reviews, I noticed that several other clients mentioned experiencing similar passive-aggressive behavior, which aligned with my own experience. Additionally, although the clinic indicated that they have six veterinarians on staff, Dr. Karapet was the only veterinarian available at the time of my visit. I chose this clinic solely because it is two blocks from my home, but I regret that decision. Overall, this was a poor experience, and I will not be returning.

We brought my dog in for a bleeding nail only because her regular vet was closed that day, yet we were charged $ 200 to stop the bleeding only. The bandage fell off almost immediately after being applied, and we were told it was “meant to fall off,” which made no sense. They refused to reapply it. Styptic powder was promised but never given. Anxiety medication was suggested very quickly based mainly on her breed(shiba),as she scream when her paws were touch. Funny thing was, while the vet was trying to listen my doggy heart, her back leg slipped off the table and the vet reflexively jumped back thinking my stress dog was abt to bite him. That moment said a lot abt handling and comfort level.Poor communication and incomplete care for the price. Would not recommend.

Bond Vet is twice as expensive as my old vet, however I wanted a better experience for my dog and I. The front desk associates, vet assistant and veterinarian were polite, friendly and accommodating to all of our needs and questions. I really appreciated how they asked if there was anything additional going on with my dog that I would like them to check. Dr. Ian examined my dog carefully and pointed out potential issues with her joints that my old vet would never care to look for. I’m assuming it was his confident vibe that allowed him to check her teeth without getting chomped. The assistant broke down the invoice for me before administering any tests. I was looking for a higher quality experience and was willing to pay for it.

I booked an appointment to get a check-up for my dog Mimi and to obtain the medical certificate, because I needed the Health Certificate for the airport. But I was surprised when they told me that the doctor refused to see her because she is not a current patient. This kind of treatment honestly upset me, and it shows a complete lack of professionalism and care for new clients. If this is how they treat someone on their very first visit, I can only imagine how they handle more serious situations. This experience was extremely disappointing, and it says a lot about the quality of their service. I honestly do not recommend this place to anyone.

I usually use Bond Vet for emergencies, and I wanted to share my experience. I have a rescue dog with chronic bronchitis, and the day before Thanksgiving he began having serious difficulty breathing. I rushed him to Bond Vet and was seen by Dr. Edith Karapet, who had previously treated him for a UTI. As soon as we arrived, the team immediately placed him in oxygen, and Dr. Karapet stepped in right away. She did everything she could to stabilize him and took the time to explain every step clearly. Her guidance and recommendations — especially her advice about hospitalization — were absolutely on point and helped me tremendously once I brought him to the hospital. She is a truly wonderful, compassionate veterinarian, and I am so grateful for the care she provided during such a frightening moment.
