I’ve been a Banfield client for six years and paid for their monthly wellness plan the entire time. Unfortunately, my experience at Banfield Pelham was extremely disappointing. While the front desk staff (especially one kind attendant with locs) were compassionate and attentive, the medical care and communication were poor. Drop-off appointments are handled between surgeries, which meant I rarely spoke directly to a veterinarian. Most of my cat’s records were either blank or only listed what I was billed for — with little to no medical notes explaining diagnoses or treatment plans. This only happens if you book an in person appointment, which gets switched to a drop off appointment without anyone telling you, you just get an automated email leading up.to your appt saying "your drop off" instead of "your in-room" appointment. My cat developed a severe skin condition and was seen four times. Each visit resulted in different advice and so much money. She was placed on hydrolyzed protein food that caused ongoing diarrhea, and I was told there were no other options. Concerns about dehydration, IBS, and a suspected ear infection were either poorly documented or never followed up on properly. Many times I was told the manager would call me and she never does. Its been told she would at least 3 times but never has she called me back. Questions unanswered by management is a clear sign of the organization that this location lacks and desperately needs. Between prescription food, medications, and transportation costs, I spent thousands of dollars without resolution. When I switched to BondVet on the Upper West Side, they identified an alternative solution in two visits LESS MONEY— hydrolyzed vegan protein — which significantly improved her condition. The difference in care, documentation, and communication was clear. Banfield Pelham’s front staff are kind, but the medical follow-through and continuity of care were not what my pet deserved. I unfortunately cannot cancel my plan since the services I've received are more than what my monthly plan would be but im now stuck with paying this until the year is up. Stay away from here. You'll waste your time, money, and sanity. Lastly, you'll see a follow up comment from banfield on all these negative reviews, saying they want to help. There's no solution they can actually provide or money they'll refund.
