We trusted Banfield with our dog Elvis for many years, but the level of care in his final years was extremely disappointing. For over a year, I repeatedly raised concerns about his declining vision, hearing loss, and worsening mobility. Each time, I was dismissed and told he was “fine” and “doing great.” At our most recent visit in February 2026, I again voiced these concerns and was reassured there were no issues. Less than a month later, we were forced to take Elvis to an emergency veterinary hospital, where we were told he had dementia, significant neurological issues affecting his mobility, and a severe heart murmur rated 5 out of 6—none of which had ever been communicated to us by Banfield. This is not a small oversight. These are serious, quality-of-life conditions that should have been recognized, discussed, and monitored—especially after multiple visits where clear symptoms were reported. Instead, we were repeatedly dismissed, which delayed our understanding of his true condition and robbed us of the opportunity to make informed decisions sooner. To add to the frustration, after everything, Banfield refused to show any compassion or flexibility regarding a recent charge, despite the clear lack of adequate care for the past few visits. We had to say goodbye to our dog! He deserved better. As longtime clients, we feel completely let down and will never return.

On January 2nd, Bucks a perfectly healthy French bulldog was taken to this vet for what was supposed to be a routine dental cleaning. Within minutes, everything turned into a nightmare. My boyfriend’s mom received a call saying they were trying to resuscitate him, and by the time she got there, he was already gone. We were told the cause was anesthesia. This is something that should be carefully monitored, especially with breeds like French bulldogs. There was no proper warning, no reassurance, and no accountability after the fact. Just a devastating outcome and a family left completely broken. This wasn’t just a dog—he was family. He was loved, cared for, and trusted to this place, and he never came back home. What makes it even worse is how quickly everything happened and how little explanation or responsibility was taken. We trusted them with his life, and that trust was completely shattered. If you have a pet, especially a high-risk breed, please do your research and think twice. A routine procedure should never end like this.
