  I’ve been a vital care rewards member for almost 2 years, since then I’ve never had any issues. My dog, Bubbles gets groomed on average every 6-8 weeks at the Hartsdale, NY store. On February 3, I called to make a grooming appointment, I was given one for the next day 2/4/26 with Efren R. Unfortunately I had to cancel the same day of the appointment. I slipped on ice while walking Bubbles and broke my ankle. On 2/7/26 I called to make a new appointment and again was given one for the next day 2/8/26 with the same groomer. Due to my broken ankle, I had asked my brother to drop off bubbles at the grooming appointment, but unfortunately the day of , he got called into work and no longer was available to take bubbles to get appointment. I had to cancel again. On 2/21/26 I tried rebooking the grooming appointment but the groomer on the phone said that unfortunately due to my previous last minute cancellations I wouldn’t be able to get an appointment, he stated he would leave my information and if another groomer wanted to risk scheduling with me they would reach out but no one did. I tried explaining the situation but it did nothing. I waited a few weeks to call back, hoping not to get the same groomer on the phone, I was able to book an appointment for 3/5/26 10 am, the appointment confirmation did not have the groomers name attached. I later called back to try to get a sooner appointment and was given an 8 am appointment for 3/5/26. On 3/5/26 my husband and I headed to PETCO to drop off Bubbles, as soon as we’re let into the store we’re told the groomer was running late, we ask how late as we needed to drop off our kids at school, he’s unable to tell me as the groomer is not picking up his phone. Now about 30 min have passed, a groomer shows up, he’s able to better explain the situation. He’s very apologetic saying he doesn’t understand how I was able to book an 8 am appointment with a groomer that’s scheduled up come in at 10?!??! I explained how I booked, he keeps trying to contact the groomer with no luck. I had no choice but to leave Bubbles and hope this groomer showed up, as we had to leave to drop off my children at school. I call around 9:30 to find out if the groomer showed up. I was told then, he hadn’t yet, this is when I find out the groomer that was assigned to bubbles was Efren and also the same person who booked this appointment. I believe this was done with bad intentions to retaliate against me! At this point I tell the groomer on the phone that I don’t feel comfortable with Efren to groom my dog, given his actions. He explained he was very sorry and he knows it wouldn’t change anything but offered to give he a 20% discount and find another groomer for Bubbles. After 7 Hours, Bubbles was finally ready, luckily the new groomer did a great job but what Efren did is not ok! What I experienced is unacceptable and inexcusable!! I am being forced to rethink my membership and find a new groomer for Bubbles!

  When I pick up my dog the groomer Efren took me to the side to tell me that my dog moved a lot & he cut the top of her paw I WILL NEVER BRING MY DOG OR Recommend any one there!!!!!!!!
