  The staff was incredibly obnoxious. Simply because we didn't like what we had bought and returned it, they refused to serve us or sell a pet to my son; they spoke to us very rudely, making him feel terrible.

  Two days ago I went to Petco to get my Quaker parrot some snacks. While I was choosing which snacks to buy my parrot I overhead a conversation between a customer and an employee. To say the least I was appalled over how that conversation went. This guy was near the fish area talking to an employee about wanting to own some fish. The female employee spoke to the customer in a horrible tone and manner, she said “if I give you the fish they will die” and even said “you should do some research on google about fish, in my day there was no internet so there’s no excuse for you not to know this information”. It’s the tone and manner the lady spoke to the guy, she isn’t professional and could’ve phrased it in a different way.

  Everytime I enter this Petco, I feel welcomed and greeted with smiles. The staff is extremely friendly and ready to assist with any questions or concerns. I always leave with a smile. I’ve yet to encounter any bad experiences.

  I had a really disappointing experience at the Petco in College Point. I brought my Pomeranian in for grooming and asked for a specific cut, but when I picked him up his fur was cut way too short. I can actually see his skin. Anyone who knows Pomeranians knows their coat shouldn’t be shaved that short, so it was pretty upsetting to see. What makes it more frustrating is that my first visit there was perfect. Melena did a superb job grooming my dog and I was hoping to get the same result this time. Unfortunately, the groomer this time, Silvia, had poor communication. She told me afterward that my dog had too many knots and that’s why she cut it so short. But she was supposed to call me if there were any problems before making a big change like that. If she had called, I would have gladly come down and we could have figured something out together. Instead, the decision was made without asking me, and now my dog’s coat is much shorter than it should be. I’m really unhappy with how this was handled and hope the store improves communication with pet owners before making major grooming decisions.
