I originally went to Petco to buy a turtle and a hamster. The manager, Collin’s, refused to sell me the turtle, saying I needed a 75-gallon tank. I then asked to purchase hermit crabs, and he also refused, claiming I didn’t have the proper setup. When I asked for the corporate phone number, he refused to give it to me, told me to look it up online, kicked me out of the store, and even called the police — all over me trying to buy pets. To make things worse, the cashier told me, “I ain’t know nothing about pets and the manager knows more than I could ever know, and he knows that because they’ve been friends for years.” When I asked the cashier for a name, they refused to give it. After that experience, I went to Pet Supplies Plus, and the difference was incredible. I was able to purchase four hermit crabs and a hamster with no problem at all, and the staff was kind, respectful, and actually willing to help. They even gave me a discount after hearing what happened, because they recognized how stores like that give pet shops a bad name. Pet Supplies Plus turned a terrible day into a positive experience. I highly recommend them — their customer service is amazing, and they truly care about pets and their owners.
