Avoid! The second star is only because the staff seem kind. I made an appointment as a new customer. They called me the day before my appointment to confirm, but I was in an important meeting and did not have ability or access to answer my phone. They left no voicemail. I intended to call them back within a few hours when my job permitted.
I received another call two hours later that happened to fall during one of my breaks. I spoke to Dr. Singh who told me that because I had not answered the first call, my appointment slot at 4:30pm had been given to another person. There was absolutely no mention of this policy in any message or email sent by the office. He offered me another slot at 6pm the same day, but that did not work for me and I declined. He asked that I come for my initial 4:30pm time slot and wait to hopefully see someone after the double booked client had finished. I accepted.
Minutes later I got a text message asking me to confirm that I was coming for my initial 4:30pm appointment time. I was confused, and responded and explained the situation. A few hours later I received a separate message confirming my appointment for 6:00pm, the slot which I had explicitly told Dr. Singh I couldn't make. I called and received the same instruction, to come at my original time and just wait until I could hopefully see a vet. I was told the wait would probably be "a while" if I came at my original time. I don't have a job that enables me to wait endlessly, so I ended up cancelling and going with another vet entirely.
I frankly don't know how the veterinary services are here. They might be great. But the fact that they are this disorganized and uncommunicative truly does not bode well for how your animal may be treated. Definitely left a bad taste!

I bought my grand puppy in for coughing issues, she is a senior Yorkshire Terrier (Princess), the staff was extremely kind, gentle and understanding. I had some concerns(grandma worries) and they assisted me by addressing them all.
Thank you to all of the staff at HOBK for just simply being here.

My animals have been patients since close to day 1. Heart of Brooklyn puts compassionate, evidence-based care first, ensuring long-term patient health. My previous two animals lived to 17 & 19, and the team at HOBK did everything possible to keep my cat as healthy as possible after she was diagnosed with kidney disease at 16 (she died at 19). They successfully performed surgery on my very senior dog, saving his life.
While my tortie may have tortured the team, they sent the sweetest note when she passed.
My current duo are happy and healthy, with zero white coat anxiety (my cat purrs throughout her appointment & is happy to see everyone; my dog wiggles with delight & happiness). The helped me figure out that my current cat rescue is the rare Japanese bobtail, a discovery that still delights me to this day.
During a time when private equity is swallowing vet clinics, Dr Farmer has put his everything in to make these clinics safe & welcoming spaces for pets & humans alike. So happy they’re in the neighborhood 💓

They misled me about a diagnosis which then led to more intensive and expensive surgery.
