  Staff,was amazing,helpful,and friendly. They made us feel comfortable and welcome. They were awesome. They helped us with all of our needs and questions. Coffee bar there to for a quick pick me up.

  My cat of 7 years was dying on me and the staff was very rude to me I took another to be put to sleep the other place I took was so nice and showed me lots of empathy.

  Someone asked me about Heart of Brooklyn recently. This experience happened a while ago, but I feel a bit compelled to tell people why I would avoid this place. I had used HoB prior to this and had had a decent experience. It is close to my apartment, so it was extremely convenient that I could walk there is just a few minutes. For several weeks my cat had been struggling to eat. I took him to HoB. I was told (correctly) by the vet that he had developed a tumor. I asked what I should do and the vet gave extremely confusing advice. I was told maybe my cat could live for a while, maybe not. I was told to take my cat to a vet in Manhattan. The vet was not able to tell me when or how I would know to put my cat down. The vet did offer to come to my apartment to put my cat down and I could pay them privately if I wanted. I am not sure what happened while I waited during the appointment, but when they brought my cat back to me he was covered in his own feces and urine. I left extremely upset and confused about what was the right thing to do for my cat. The next day I took my cat to a different local vet for a second opinion. They were extremely clear that my cat only had a few days to live and should be put down for his comfort. They were kind and clear with me and gentle with my sick pet. It was a much better and much more helpful experience. I would never take any animal to HoB again and certainly would encourage my friends and neighbors to avoid it.

  I assume private-equity owned because very difficult to contact. The "Contact" function on the website does not work, and the phone number listed for the business sometimes goes to the office, but more often goes to a generic third-party phone tree service that does not take messages and refers to the office only as "the business." They have also changed email addresses three times in the 5 years that I have been coming here.

  Honestly, I don't want to complain too much cause it's clear the staff is so underpaid they dgaf. But I sincerely wouldn't come here if it weren't so close to me. They consistently drop the ball on reviewing records and giving informative information. There seems to be a rotating crew of Drs cause they can't keep staff and the management must be not so great cause they're bad at scheduling both their staff and their appointments. They are never on time. I've had them cancel my appointment ten minutes beforehand because too many techs called out. The price suddenly changed on me cause they've been apparently misleading my dogs librella and nail trim for like a year or more. I've been here when the staff was freaking out at the front desk because they had apparently sent the pet morgue a dog without contact information and we're trying to figure out who's animal it was. I've been here when they gave a dog the incorrect vaccinations and had to tell the owner they had to come back another time for the correct ones. I hate this place.
