About ~5 years ago this place was very good, but now it should really be avoided. It was bought out by private equity or some conglomeration and the quality of care has gone down while the prices have gone *way* up. Doctors come and go, and you can't request any particular one, so you can't build a relationship. Care has become very assembly-line. For example, they insist on owners being out of the room when giving shots--what?
They have also started up-selling in a way that seems possibly criminal. $2000 for a routine spay? You can get it done for literally a tenth of that at any number of clinics. My friend brought his dog there recently with diarrhea and they tried to charge him $700 for the visit! E.g., for IV fluid--totally unnecessary since the dog was drinking water and was basically fine! (They wisely declined the high-pressure upsell.)
I know options in the neighborhood are limited but if you can take the subway or a cab to another vet you should do so.

We have been utilizing vet services here for our cats for years and hadn’t had a bad experience so far, but we unfortunately won’t be returning after attempted fraud with billing and disrespectful behavior towards customers.
We brought our cat in this morning for X-rays, at which time multiple staff members informed my husband that they were understaffed and expecting delays (this turned out to be the case- a 20 minute service took over 3 hours to complete). Staff members later tried to deny liability for the negligent staffing and instead tried to charge my husband to a half-day boarding fee for an issue they caused, even going as far as to lie to my husband about being understaffed. There was no mention of the possibility of this fee the day before. A staff member even had the audacity to tell my (very polite) husband to “consider how he looks right now” when he was disputing the charge. Really disappointed.
Be very careful to read through all billing statements. They will try to charge you all they can, even if it’s their fault.

The WORST AND MOST UNPROFESSIONAL vet clinic I have ever been to. I brought my dog into this clinic to get help, upon examination the doctor touched my dog’s testicles which was weird but I thought nothing of it, they gave him a shot and fluids; literally the next day my dog had a whole breakout on his testicles which was completely unrelated to the case I brought my dog in for(noted THIS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE TO MY DOG, he is very well kept and groomed), so I went back to the vet to tell them my speculation( that I thought it was an allergy reaction), BOTH THE TECH AND THE DOCTOR verbally disrespected myself and my husband and claimed whatever is going on with my dog has nothing to do with them and that my dog brushed himself on his crate that he was born and raised in and got that outbreak, the doctor started twitching his face and questioned my intelligence, told us to contact the manufacturers who made the shot, then proceeded to accuse me of wanting money from them and when I ignored him he told me to leave that he doesn’t care. I never met such a disrespectful veterinarian ever. After they COMPLETELY DISMISSED my speculation they gave us a lotion for my dog’s rash and told us we can go to another hospital. If I can rate them ZERO STARS I would most definitely do so. It’s so uncomfortable that a person like that has license to take care of people’s pets, because even after the altercation, my dog is not the same as before we took him there.

We had been regulars at this vet until we learned of their terrible practices around appointments/walk-ins: they often have no "availability" for several days if you try to schedule an appointment (of any kind), but if you just walk in off the street (as the receptionist advised) they can miraculously fit you in, but for $100 extra ($200+ total for the exam). I rarely write reviews but I am completely disgusted by such a practice--it cheats their customers at the expense of their pet's health. They should be ashamed.

I brought my cat to Heart of Brooklyn for a check up and vaccination, based on reviews, and I'm glad I did. Everyone was caring, professional, and informative. Dr. Kim was thorough and kind; I was given recommendations and suggestions without being pushed and all my questions were answered. Also, the place is super clean! I'll definitely trust them with my pet's care❤️
