  This particular store is awesome! Everyone is so nice and friendly and very helpful! I definitely would not recommend the grooming salon! I used petco grooming salon for many years previously.... They are extremely overpriced, and several years ago they refused to service my dogs For reasons they would not disclose. I have found several locally owned salons with much more affordable pricing and extremely friendly And wonderful to my dogs

  I went into Petco in Sparks at approximately 6:35pm on a Monday night and simply asked if I would be able to get the heart guard chewy for my puppy, that can also be used to treat roundworm, etc. I’ve always gotten this for my previous dog, but through the pop up vet. However, I had called prior to walking in to see if I would just be able to simply walk into the store and get it and I was told yes, just ask one of the workers, so I thought perfect I don’t have to make an appointment to get this chewy for my dog. Once again, when I walked in on Monday night, I did what the worker over the phone told me to do and asked if they’d be able to get me the heart guard chewy. I was given a very disgusted look by the worker and talked to as if I was stupid. I felt I was nice and very straight to the point with my questions and responses. I was told I can’t get that and it was only specifically for heartworm. Which is crazy because the vet themselves have always told me it can also be used for roundworm, and also says on the packaging. She proceeded to say I can’t get it through the store only the vet. So then I asked her if she had other options, and she showed me them. They were pricier than the heart guard chewy which I found ridiculous. I then asked to confirm that if I just make an appointment with the pop up vet at this location, if I can get the heart guard. She once again gave me a dirty look and talked to me as if I was stupid and said no I can only get it through the vet ….. didn’t I just ask that????? I once again tried confirming, yes this vet that comes here would be able to prescribe me the heart guard once I make an appointment …. Once again got another look and was told no the vet, they only come on Wednesdays and Sundays. YES THE POP UP VET HERE?!!! I felt I was repeating myself. I unfortunately did not get her name but she was extremely rude when there was quite literally no reason to be rude. I came to her as a customer simply and politely asking if she would be able to help me with what I was looking for and instead continuously got looked at and talked to as if I was stupid. When I was walking out she proceeded to comment on MY rudeness ? Keep in mind, I will always defend myself so yes, after her continued rudeness I did catch an attitude. However, once she made her comment, all I said was well you’re honestly being pretty rude yourself. This entire encounter was honestly ridiculous in itself, as I was simply needing one thing and there was no reason to be rude from the get go. Just didn’t appreciate it at all. If you don’t like your job then find another one but don’t take it out on your customers.

  I take both my dogs, Butter and Jionnie, to Petco for grooming services. Butter is a long hair Chihuahua mix, and she takes a very long time for grooming services while Jionnie a chiweenie, is short haired and requires just bathing. They are a bonded pair, and Jionnie is afraid of most things. Both get their nails done too. Anna, their groomer, is the absolute best, and even the dogs give her the 5 star approval!

  I will never be coming back. In the betta fish area, 1 of the containers had green water in it because the fish was so dead it was literally breaking apart and decaying it was disgusting and heartbreaking. (No I didn’t take a photo didn’t have the heart too.) Besdies most if not all of the bettas in the cups couldn’t even swim and were just in horrible conditions. Then in all the other fish tanks most if not all of them had 2-6 dead fish in each of them that were just literally rotting away. Most of the live plants were dead. It was heartbreaking and inhumane to see how these animals were being treated. Do better for the animals. Absolutely disgusting.

  Wonderful experience! I don’t know how they cut my dogs nails without her freaking out but they did and did a great job! We will be back. Thanks Tim
