I don't understand what is wrong with Dr Bar, but I shouldn't be leaving in tears when I brought my dog in for a senior wellness exam. I told him my 12 year old dog is losing mobility fast and one of his front arms is getting re, he already has bad back legs and arthritis. I can no longer lift him to help him. His immediate reply? "Well how did you get him here then?" It felt like trying to catch me in a lie, definitely not concerned for how i managed to get him here. I removed my passenger seat so that I could lift him into the car. That's as high as I can lift him because hes losing the ability to help me move him. But, Why is this person trying to "gotcha" me? This happened the whole time. He asks "is he eating? Well if he can't walk, how does he get to the bowl?" I'm like... he is losing mobility. It is getting worse.. he is starting to not be able to get up or walk. I would like to see what's going on with his front leg and get him bloodwork so he can maybe get Carprofen (like a doggie safe ibuprofen) along with Librella (amazing injection for arthritis). But now, instead of saying we'd find a pain cause and a plan for my dog, I have to defend myself for wanting Carprofen and why and he said Librella is a pain killer. But i don't need to be talked to like this, just please touch the dog and move his arms or ask me to approve tests, Im here for advice and whatever he needs to have a better life. I don't understand why I'm some type of enemy. My boy has extensive records in my hands (meaning I am a solid, paying client who cares about him) and almost everything I say includes trying to prove me wrong somehow. I adopted him 5 years ago and he is 11-12. In my hands is a pamphlet for a disk disease from 2019, before I adopted him, and the dr says the cause of his sudden immobility is that disease and surgery is the only option. He won't touch his front arms at all or anything else. Hook his heart rate. My last vet said our next visit should have bloodwork so they can make a pain plan that won't hurt his organs. The whole thing felt like an inconvenience and like i was lying or exaggerating, but it makes like no sense. Whats the point of lying when it comes to my senior dog being in pain with worsening arthritis or something? He laid in the same position the entire time and needed help from the waiting room. He says he will take him to the back to perform his exam and then he starts trying to drag a 90 pound senior dog across the floor by his leash only, so his neck. No attempting to stand him, no asking me to get him up, just dragging. Hes just staring at him like a zombie while pulling him by the leash. I came to try to help and he went to get an assistant. I sat there for a second just fighting tears and decided to I go to the front and said I can't do this, I don't understand what I did to this man by trying to bring in my dog for mobility issues. I need a different vet please. Keep in mind it am a calm, tiny woman, not some scary mean person. I don't understand any of this and havent been this hurt in a long time. My dog is an angel too. The sweetest and cutest nugget ever. Black lab, born oversized with back leg and hip issues from early on. Adopted at 7 years old by me in 2020. He was in pretty good shape until recently. I ended up just leaving tears. Unbelievable. I'm in shock. I can not understand what is going on at all. I didnt lie about anything and, honestly, what is there to even lie about? I'm a good person who loves my dog to death and just tried to get him bloodwork, yearly exam, Librella, and his ears checked like I have done every year at another vet practice when I lived in Henderson. I didnt give the guy any attitude and he acted like we were some inconvenience and i was dishonest or shady. I'm a normal person with a client-facing professional career, I'm not some scary weirdo. I'm so sad.
