- LMLarry MartineSep 11, 20251.0Dog Age Discrimination At Its Worst! I’ve been getting both of my Rough Collies groomed at Petco Santa Fe for the past several years. They are now 11 and 7 years old and they alternate getting groomed each month; each gets groomed bi-monthly. Granted they, like all Collies, have lots of fur. Unfortunately, the oldest dog has a hard time standing for the entire time. When we picked her up after her most recent grooming last month, she still needed her chest and hocks trimmed. However, citing they had no harness available to help support my 11 year old dog, they not only refused to trim her further but also disallowed me from booking her any more appointments! Needless to say, I’ll never take either of my dogs to Petco Santa Fe again and recommend that other owners, especially of older dogs, find another groomer as well.
