Of the doctor that makes me uncomfortable each time and it’s only been a few encounters. I left feeling judged and at the same time ripped off to a certain extent. The one particular head top doctor needs to work on her personality and delivery.

I will never step foot at the Deptford Banfield again, they don’t even deserve one star. This was the 3rd horrible experience with Dr. Samantha Dence. I figured maybe she had a bad day the first, second time, boy was I wrong. She is always so cocky and rude. This last experience in a nutshell…. I am well aware my cat can be a “you know what” when he is there, therefore I give him gabapentin to calm him before taking him. He was still not happy after the drug this time. I get a call saying such and they couldn’t do anything that day , ok I get it. The conversation after that statement is when her personality and unprofessionalism comes out. Dr. Dence then proceeds to tell me that if an animal bites one of them it needs to be reported if it’s “bad enough” whatever that means, ok I get that as well. On the other hand aren’t you trained as a vet to take care of animals, no matter their personality? At any rate Dr. Dence then proceeds to actually say to me that she or another employee can sue me if they are hurt by my cat. Wait what??? I was dumbfounded. I then proceed to go pick up my cat without loosing it on the phone with her, arrive there and proceed to speak with the receptionist (I won’t mention her name because she is normally very nice) about the incident. The receptionist then proceeds to tell me that the doctor never said that? Like what??? She clearly was covering for her. What do I have to gain by saying something like that? I literally gave Dr. Dence more then 3 times with her attitude coming out, I could have said something the first two times and I didn’t. I will be going elsewhere. I will also advise everyone to follow suit.

The vet and team here are great! My dog has anxiety, and they are very caring and accommodating to her issues. I’m able to get my dog seen quickly, and the care and attention to her health are excellent.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
