Customer service was good, layout and availability was average, and the bathrooms were accessible but very dirty.
Petco in West Orange ten ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ they were very helpful, informative and just nice guys. I don’t remember their names, they know who they are. I brought leopard geckos and they were so patient with me. Guys, I named them Mac & Cheese. That’s Mac in the pic. Cheese is in the corner chilling. ♥️
IDK if it’s a West Orange location policy but on 4/10/2026 these folks refused to sell me a Parakeet. They told me unless I had a cage waiting for the bird I cannot purchase it. How the heck you gonna try and tell me what to do with my bird? They lost my business I went to animal kingdom and got my kids a bird without any issues. If I ever chose to go back to petco it will be the Verona or Kearny location, West Orange need a little more common sense. I spoke to 3 different sale associates and all 3 refused to sell me the bird because of a cage!

I went to return a new snack that my dog did not like and the process was smooth and the cashier was friendly. The staff at this location are always helpful and courteous.

I am writing to express my concern regarding the service I have repeatedly received from a groomer named Monica at your West Orange location.
I understand that weekend grooming appointments are typically booked in advance and that the store is often busy. However, I have been informed that in between scheduled grooming appointments, walk-in services such as nail trims are available. Unfortunately, each time I bring my dog in for a nail trim, Monica has turned me away.
To avoid any confusion, I recently began calling ahead before arriving. Today, I called and was told by a groomer that I could come in after 3:00 PM for a nail trim. However, when I arrived, Monica again refused service. When I explained that I had called ahead, she appeared visibly annoyed and questioned who had taken the call. Another groomer confirmed that he had, and he was able to assist me by completing my dog’s nail trim.
While I appreciate that another staff member ultimately provided the service, I am disappointed by the repeated difficulty and inconsistency I have experienced when interacting with Monica. As a customer, I expect clear communication and a professional, courteous approach.
I am bringing this to your attention in hopes that this matter can be addressed to ensure a more consistent and positive experience for customers moving forward.
